What inspires you?

In 3 years past, i have been engaged in post war reconstruction projects in Post war Northern Uganda targeting war affected children and Youth. Our major tool in all our projects to moblise young people towards embracing the prevailing peace has been the power of sport. We have utilised the power of sport in every corner teaching young people about conflict resolution, Transformation, dialogue, tolerance, forgiveness, reconciliation, non violence, respecting and accepting differences, justice & equality, respecting rules, self control, communication skills, team spirit, integrity etc. The power of sport has helped to mobilise the youth into development projects and going back to school after the war and as well, after the war the prevalence rate of HIV went very high about 14%, utilising the power of sport Under the Peace Through Sport project and peace games we have been able to extend free HIV testing and counseling services ti thousands of young people. Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.

I am so much passionate about making young people about the deadly scourge HIV/AIDS. I have invested a great amount of my time since the year 2000 in educating young people about HIV/AIDS, extending free HIV counseling and testing services, caring for the orphaned as a result of the AIDS epidemic etc. What encouraged me so much was after nursing my first born brother, who painfully succumbed to the HIV/AIDS Virus, was with him each day that past, i witnessed all the pain and suffered along with him together with my mother. After seeing what he went through, it was a turning point of my life i never wanted to see people contract this deadly disease. Ever since i choose to abstain from pre-marital sex and that has kept me safe. You can follow us on our facebook photo album to see the work we're doing to ensure young people stay safe Campaigns http://is.gd/jq60Mq and http://is.gd/FGeWOG Further, you can also view our photo Album on HIV/AIDS Peer Education http://is.gd/Wh99Wa

Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.

A good leader must be a servant, must be teachable, must listen, must be democratic, and must implement a zero tolerance on corruption.

Do you think TakingITGlobal can help you achieve some of your goals? Have we already? Please tell us how.

Yes, i believe TakingITGlobal can be of great help to me achieve my goals e.g. on promoting youth work globally, disseminate information about our projects that can be replicated globally and a peace mouth for advocacy on issues affecting the Youth.
