What inspires you?
I am very much inspired by TakingITGlobal's good initiative of connecting the world youth together. This, I believe, will eventually lead the world towards global peace, youth empowerment and most importantly, sustainable development. This has prompted my interest by joining the community as my own way of contribution towards achieving these goals.
Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.
The most important issue that matters to me a lot is Human Right issues. Because i think if human right are respected by all stakeholders irrespective of sex, religion, color, racial or ethnicity discrimination, it will eventually lead to attain the highest level of globalization. I have been involved in series of training sessions on the issue of Human Rights at the University level and this has developed my skills to be an advocate of human right in my community. As a result of this, I have initiated a youth organization in my community called the Youth for Sustainable Development, and i am currently the president.
Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.
A good leader doesn’t think he or she knows everything, or always knows better than other people. Good leaders not only listen, but they listen to lots of different people-and take their advice and their views into consideration when making decisions. A good leader is not constantly blaming others for problems—even if they actually did create them. He should be held accountable for every success and failure in the organization. A good leader not only accepts blame; he or she also deflects praise and credit to others. And he or she should be a honest person in whatever thing he/she is doing.
Do you think TakingITGlobal can help you achieve some of your goals? Have we already? Please tell us how.
TalkingITGlobal has gone almost a full way in making me attend these aims and objectives, and still many more efforts needs to be done. TIG has accepted me in a Global Community where I am able to interact with different youth from different parts of the world to share and exchange ideas towards sustainable you development. I will like if TalkingITGlobal partnered with my organization back here in The Gambia so that we can collectively work together toward achieving this dream. All we lack as of now is fund to legally register our organization, but sooner than later, we will be a legally registered organization before November 2013. We will be very much glad if you support us in this noble initiative. Thank you.
