What inspires you?
Inspiration may come from the most various sources. To me, it comes mainly from shared efforts. The empowering feeling you get when you know you are doing good, when you are helping others, when you are making a contribution to a cause that surpass your remit, that, that is the most moving sensation: the thrill you get from being a real agent of change, on the assumption that you are no longer a sole individual, but a elemental part of something bigger- that is, being a citizen of the World for real.
Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.
I got involved with Models United Nations when I was fifteen years old, probably, too young to figure out they would be a turning point in my life. MUNs have taught me how big the World is, how many people all around it don't have things i regard as normal in my life, how many people starve to death, and the dooming future depicted as a consequence of environmental abuses. So I encountered the first milestone in my career: I decided I would not allow myself to remain a bystander. I would work myself to the ground until things change for better. I assumed a lifelong commitment: I will channel all my energy and skills to make a difference, that’s what the models had taught me, that’s what they encouraged me to do. To dream, to get involved, to make a change.
Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.
Some have a flair for leadership: still, they are not superior in any way to people in general. I consider myself as one, and that way, i can make my point clear by setting myself as an example, if i may.
I am dead set against being treated like a boss among my colleagues. That is not me. I am a leader, and as one, I am also part of a team. I always endeavor to listen to every single person, to channel their ideas in such a way they intertwine with other people's ideas. Unlike what we are used to see sometimes on the news, ideas can harmonically combine and add up, rather than destroy and fall apart. But probably, the principle that guides my way is always bearing in mind that I been lodged with a paramount responsibility, that of being the voice of my pairs.
Do you think TakingITGlobal can help you achieve some of your goals? Have we already? Please tell us how.
TakingITGlobal has been a wonderful tool that allowed me to meet people from all around the World with shared interests and ideals. For some time now, I have been feeling that things I do have a great impact on other people. Now, if what I do becomes bigger, more people will click and work towards a change. This is my motto and my inspiration. This is what TIG has given me.
