About PodcastsWhat is a Podcast?A Podcast is an online audio (or sometimes video) program that can be downloaded from the Internet and played on a personal computer or a portable device such as an Apple iPod. Through Apple iTunes and other services, you can subscribe to a Podcast. What are TakingITGlobal Podcasts?TakingITGlobal Podcasts will showcase the personal stories, passions, and action of young people around the world - literally in their own voices. TIG podcasts will provide a new and compelling audio window on the way global issues, daily news, and cultural change affects the lives of young people from Nepal to Ukraine, Sri Lanka to Canada. With Podcast content coming from a mix of existing young radio broadcasters, young people 'on the scene' of news, special teams covering major international events, moderated Skype conference calls on big issues, and short responses submitted online or over the phone, TIG podcasting will be an authentic, dynamic, compelling, and interactive content source for the information generation. TIG podcasts offer something distinctive - most other podcasts are created by Northern audiences for Northern audiences, TIG podcasts are equally created by and for audiences in the South. TIG podcasts will be made available for rebroadcast to broader audiences through mainstream, community, and student radio broadcasters, under a Creative Commons License. How can I post my own podcasts? To create your own podcast you will use your TIGblog and post an audio file. Every member automatically has a TIGblog, so don't worry about creating one.
