Welcome to the Dispatch
This month TakingITGlobal will be launching a new issue page in our Understanding the Issues section. Child Labour is a topic that concerns many TakingITGlobal members and was noticeably missing from the topics that the Understanding the Issues section covers. It will also be our Featured Issue for the month of June, with World Day Against Child Labour happening on June 12th. The International Labour Organization is our partner for the Child Labour issue and will be helping to provide informative content that will guide members towards action that can be taken on Child Labour, including the SCREAM toolkit (available in French and Spanish) and Featured Discussions on child labour and agriculture and child labour income where you can exchange ideas and opinions with fellow TIG members. We hope that this new addition to our Understanding the Issues section will help inform and inspire you to learn more about Child Labour and what you can do.

Featured Country: South Africa
The Republic of South Africa is located on the very southern tip of the African continent, it is the largest economy in Africa and often considered the most developed in terms of infrastructure and economy. South Africa is also referred to as the 'Rainbow Nation' on account of its multicultural diversity, which flourished after the end of apartheid in 1994. Learn more about the South Africa country site and browse through the blog posts, artwork and articles South African TIG members have posted on the country site.
Recently South Africa has been in the news because of violent outbursts aimed at various immigrant groups. Share your reaction on the discussion thread in our Current Events Forum.

Human Rights Theme
In 2008 the world will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration was signed on December 10th, 1948 and over the last 60 years it has continued to affect people's lives and inspire human rights activism and legislation all over the world. TakingITGlobal will also be celebrating this milestone and with the support of the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies (CASHRA) a new featured theme has been launched. The 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights page will contain many different features, so be sure to check it out and add your stories!
You can be a part of this Featured Theme! Post on your TIGblog, with text, photos, or a podcast (MP3) and tag it with 'udhr60' and it will be included on the Featured Theme page!
