++ 2. Holidays and Festivals ++
All around the world, people are brought together in celebration by
the concept of a New Year. This month, TakingITGlobal invites you to
immerse yourself in the various sights and sounds of New Year’s
celebrations on each continent! Although different cultures may follow
unique calendars, each New Year’s celebration shares the common hope for
a fresh start and a shining future.
Learn about New Year’s in different cultures, and share your own experiences
of this holiday at: http://www.takingitglobal.org/themes/celebrations
++ 3. Send an e-Card! ++
Use TakingITGlobal’s free electronic greeting card section to send
cards for any special occasion to your friends and family all around
the world! Connect to your loved ones!
++ 4. Celebrate!: e-card Contest ++
This month, in lieu of an art contest, TakingITGlobal is running an
e-Card contest!
Create an electronic greeting card for your favorite holiday or
festival. What do you celebrate in your culture? Let us know, and let
others celebrate too, through an e-Card!
++ 5. i-cubed Zine Featured Article ++
In “Why Do We Celebrate”, Wojciech Gryc of Canada explores the roots
and ramifications of celebrations. What deeper significance do
celebrations have for us? He writes: “The important thing regarding
celebrations is not that we are throwing a party, but rather that we
are coming together as one society and one world, to celebrate together.”
