This final report summarizes the findings and final recommendations of the Cross-Canada Mapping of Youth-led and/or Highly Youth-engaged Initiatives project, conducted between November 2005 and April 2006, voicing the perspectives of youth across Canada with regards to youth participation, while highlighting the exceptional work of youth-led and/or highly youth-engaged initiatives in Canada. These findings were used to evaluation TakingITGlobal's role within the youth community in Canada, and resulted in the development of a comprehensive three-year Canada-wide program, entitled Creating Local Connections Canada, aiming to support and promote youth participation in Canada. This project was supported by the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, in part to inform their Community Renewal through Engaging Youth strategy.
