Africa Industrialization Day

Close to 600 million people in Africa are living without stable or affordable sources of energy, and still rely on some of the most basic technologies for subsistence living. On November 21 we take notice of the great development needs facing Africa, and the opportunities they are increasingly seeing to implement infrastructure initiatives that would benefit day to day life, and foster sustainable economic growth. With this emerging boon in development and industrialization, the continent faces new questions over the use and allocation of resources, and what the cultural and environmental challenges will be in the face of such rapid change. What danger comes with the economic benefits of resource exploration in possibly bringing about a new type of economic colonialism Africa has only just emerged from.
