THE OTHER SIDE

Think about this, ye friend
When the question mark bears no dot
Where then is the question?
It bears no meaning
Not even an ounce of significance.

What if the mind has no questions?
Then it would be as good as deceased
A dead mind in a life human
What then is the essence of life?
I can only wonder.

They say the grass is greener at the other side
Is that route not too knotty to tour?
How do we know if we have not seen the greenery?
Or have we seen it from our rooted spots?
Life is an ocean of weeds
Whether brown or green... weeds remain weeds
They still bear no consequence.

If I be a part of nature; the flora and the fauna
Then I should be delighted I am deflated of worries
I behold the beautiful smiles of the infants
I grow envious with pity... how’s that?
I’m envious of that life
That life with its reality just like a dream

But then the gulch of pity flows in
That as the smiles grows
It fades into uncertainties
Fades in cares and impracticality
The sky is a witness to all these
Full of stars so beautiful, they watch from above
Strolling in only in the dark
And you cannot just but stare
There would have been no viewers but for the sky’s attire
Taking a transformation at night from blue to black.

Thank God for nights
Thank God for questions
Questions wipe our worries
They help us reason
Especially when there are no answers
They just leave you wondering... ‘Maybe’
‘Just... maybe’
