When two men are involved in a fight, both are losers
- Bishop Adrian Smith

As a nation,
Not meant to but have to,
We are one.
On the way socio-economic problems rampant
Corruption and instability mounted
So dissatisfaction exploded,
Silence broken,
Recorded is a horrific era in a short history.

Silence broken,
Out in the peaceful forest and busy town,
Someone planned a dim day.
To execute it,
Young boys
And senior men were mobilized.
And in the distance,
They were on the move.

Silence broken,
There were cries of grief,
Mothers and wantoks sobbed,
An opposite bosom worried,
Their men
And boys would leave,
And in the distance,
They were on the move.

Silence broken,
Here they come,
Move like a violent wind,
Pour like a torrential rain,
Spark like a roaring thunder,
Break like a tidal wave,
And burn like a blue fire.
In the distance
They were on the move.

Silence broken,
And economically
The place I call home,
Rapidly moved down the economic escalator.
Silence broken,
And I realized
That the place I call home
Is politically a weak and struggling state.
Silence broken
And internationally,
The place I call home
Is labeled a precarious destination.
