The other day i looked thru my grandmothers old books. She had a copy of the Qu'ran (the Islamic Bible). Being Anglicans, i found it odd that she would hav it. I thumbed thru it and found this passage underlined:

"Let not your hatred of others cause you to act unjustly against them"

My grandman was obviously on the right track...

So how do groups like the Taliban read that differently?

It defies logic.

I just felt i should put something up since i havent for a while. (i really like seeing my name up there with the updates!!!).

Im not sure im for or against this attack on Afghanistan. It seems like the inevitable thing but it seems highly hypocritical to be bombing and dropping food at the same time. But i guess they are only targeting the Talioban....

But what the hey, let them do it. I harbor no fondness for any fundamentalist muslims and im sure its making every patriotic American feel better.

But i dont like the US using this as an excuse to go after other "rouge states" like Iraq.

ANY WAY (OOps caps lock) thats enough from me.

(btw: I was putting in the countries ive visited in my profile and the first country on the list is Afghanistan....ironic or what?!)

    *WARNING*

This is a very controversial viewpoint and may seem ill-timed but i feel it should be heard.

In no way do i mean to offend anyone and in no way am i siding with the attackers...

I hope that as people read this they keep an open mind and do not see me as being unreasonable.

As soon as i got home from school on sep 11 i felt a slight twinge in the back of my neck (It wasnt a bug. After pondering the reason for the twinge it suddenly became clear to me. Something was wrong with this whole thing.

The constant media coverage, the lift-out special on the tradegy in New York.

Why was this such a big tragedy?

50,000 people in the buildings, almost 300 in the planes, 1000 in the Pentagon... but was that really so much?

On the night of Dec. 2nd 1984, a gas leak from the Union Carbide chemical plant in Bhopal, India, caused the deaths of about 1,700 and the grevious maiming of several hundred thousand people.

To this day Union Carbide denies responsibility despite a class action claiming they perpetrated Industrial Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity.

Union Carbide escaped liability with a pathetic settlement for what has been dubbed the "Hiroshima of the Chemical Industry".

During the earthquake in Gujurat, India, on the 26th of January (India's republic day):Over 100,000 people died, over 250,000 were people injured and about 1 million people were left homeless .

These are only 2 of the atrocities man has seen since recorded history. And yet the possible death of 50,000 people overshadows this?

To me this shows how countries with more money can manipulate people.

Bhopal and Gujurat got 1 day of headlines and then were buried on the inside of hte newspaper. "Attack on America" is still the major headline.

My only basis for this crime to be of greater concern is the fact that they were terrorist acts; plain and simple murder. Whereas Gujurat was a force of nature.

But surely the Bhopal incident is a crime.
(below is from http://www.bhopal-justice.com)

This criminal policy was clearly motivated by the company's racial discrimination in evaluating the value of life of the impoverished Indians living in the residential colonies near the plant.

How is it that the tradgedy in America (which truly is a tragedy) has lasted so long and trgedies in 3rd world nations such as India are forgotten after 1 day?!?

This sort of thing defies all logic and infuriates me beyond belief.

(please!!!!!! feel free to prove me wrong, I dont wish to be seen as a heartless freak!!)

below is an image from Bhopal...... (if you want o know more about The Bhopal Incident check http://www.bhopal-justice.com/)

The NYC crisis...

Well, this is all people can talk about, and seeing the footage i can tell why.

That shot of the 2nd tower just as the plane hit it was one of the most sickening things i have ever seen. To realise that in the period of say 3 seconds, hundreds of lives were blinked out.

People are very quick to cast the blame however. Its got to be those "bloody Arabs" right? Are'nt all Arabs terrorist's anyway?

Why don't we just bomb every country ending in "stan"? Theres a good solution.

This is the kind of stuff that makes this whole situation worse.

We're playing right into their hands if this is our frame of mind. This is what they wanted.

So for the 99% of people thinking like this. Just relax and think about it...

Geez, its amazing how far you can stretch 2 cents.....

(btw: read my article: Terror)
