Stopped right in my tracks!

Whilst I'm contemplating whether or not to hit the library and do a few hours of studying I thought I'd post an entry. Today was one of those days where a particular incident arises and it really makes you think and I mean REALLY MAKES YOU THINK. I got up at 7.30am as I do on a Wednesday, got ready and then head off for my four hours of lectures and seminars. At 1.00pm I was done and made my way to volunteering. The day was going pretty much as my Wednesday's have done since coming back to uni in October. I arrived at the Refugee Centre and sat down at my desk, made myself comfy and then got up to call a client from reception. The clients sat down at my desk and that's when it all changed. You often get these incidents in life where you're caught up in your own affairs then BHAM! something stops you right in your tracks. And that is what a family I saw today did to me. I don't think it's necessary for me to share with you what they told me. It's just that feeling I got which I wanted to communicate to you.

Finally a title!

It's 17.17 and I have some time before I go for dinner so I thought I'd post an entry. Today didn't get off to a good start. I got up late which I hate doing! I had to get ready in a rush and then go to my lecture only to find that the seminar afterwards was cancelled! The day got slightly better though after a meeting with my dissertation supervisor. I had to discuss my title with him. Previously it was 'Why does the West need to radically re-think its immigration policy and embrace the idea of immigration?'. Now it's 'What challenges does the European Union face in achieving a common immigration policy?'. I'm much happier with the new title. At least I can now focus my reading. By the way please feel free to share with me what you think about a common immigration policy for the European Union.

To blog or not to blog!

Wow I've actually set up a TIGBLOG after discussions with myself and my sister as to whether a 'blog' was a waste of time or not. I've succumbed to the vogue! I've realised that if I'm going to live a sane life this year as a final year student it might help for me to record what and how I'm feeling about anything and everything. But I guess it's not just to do with my final year if I'm being honest. I want the opportunity to be heard. I want to be able to voice my opinions on what's going on in our world and tell you what got me inspired, informed and involved and continues to do. I might just want to share with you how my day has been. So watch this space!
