                    <description><![CDATA[I read a comment to my posting on Youngies ...getting Pal and Deans from Kelechi Agi in New York, and felt it worthy to comment too...or add more. <br />
Currently plans are completed for thew next phase of the Youngis/ Ministry of Education , Owerri programs. Thisa time we are embarking on the training of the Project Implementation Unit PIU members,..this will be followed by the training of Teachers in Secondary schools on zonal level. Dr. Gloria Chukwukere, state Education commissioner has given approval to this while fundimg comes from the World Bank <br />

                    <title>Youngies Get the "Pals" and Deans</title>

                    <description><![CDATA[As part of the grassroot and South East Nigeria focused ARSH  HIV/AIDs programme of thre YOUNGIES Project., there was a zonal level training and awareness program for Principals and Deans of secondary schools in Imo State. It held in the various zones, Owerri - 6  7 Nov at Villa Maria Conference Centre Owerri; Orlu - 9 Nov at Austiona Hostel , Orlu; Okigwe - 10 Nov at Cho Genesis Hotel, Okigwe.<br />
<br />
Participants were taken through the following topics.<br />
1. The Basic Facts about HIV/AIDS.<br />
2. ARSH  HIV/AIDS Education : Issues, Experiences and Expectations.<br />
3. The Need for FLE in secondary schools.<br />
4. Integrating FLE, ARSH  HIV/AIDS into the School Curriculum.<br />
<br />
Earlier during the opening ceremony, Imo State Education Commissioner, Dr. Mrs Gloria Chukwukere urged the Principals  Deans to participate attentively and help towards the success of the project. She promised her ministries support for the project.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile Peer Educators trainers are billed to train Peer Educators in the secondary schools by the beginning of the second term.<br />

                    <description><![CDATA[In realising the goals of "Youngies" project, the team will be visiting some schools in South East Nigeria,with the start in Enugu State. ..on Monday Nov. 24; 2004. Schools to be visited include Queens School, Awkunanu "Unoin" Boys ,etc.<br />
