ZENITH LIFE NOT ZEST

There is a saying which goes; All riches without joy is like a car without fuel. Against this premise it is believed that for the success and failure of every person, there is someone responsible and rarely by that person himself. As such, many people that have made it in life see themselves as ultimate and that for those who are yet to achieve the fruition of their aspirations as nonentities and weak. Why is this common with those at the top? If not, why are they cruel at the failure and inadequacy of their fellow mankind? Many people in this category are at the zenith and so, they are satisfy that all is over not minding the number of death toll their neighbours are perishing to by the day. The explosive rate of unemployment and underemployment in our country has soared to 95% which is an epitome of these facts. It is an obvious truth because these class of people are comfortable with corrosive features like corruption, nepotism, necromancy, sectionalisism and the likes which indeed are radiation of backwardness of our cheerful nation. Seeing this negative feature as a menace to the development of our great nation , i therfore evoke on nigerians to arise and apprehend this pepertual menace and save this country for posterity. like was said by Rev. Thomas Mathus; The egocentric and egoism is multiplying geometrically at increasing rate while citizen benefit is progresing arithmetically without even social security. Having forseen this plight, i therfore predict that if the nation does not revert to its status quo to avert this, She shall surely emigrate to live a destituted life abroad. Then i ask, what is the zest of a proud father who is at the peak? If the answer is comfort and happiness of his children, then higher level Nigerians should have a rethink about the generation yet unborn.

THE CHALLENGES CONFRONTING OUR FUTURE AS YOUNG PEOPLE

As aspiring young leaders, we are faced with the several chalenges confronting us on a daily basis. We lived in an age where everyone did as he saw fit. This made the challenges confronting us great. Some of this challenges are external while others are internal.
Many young people in their 20"s and 30"s are entering adult life dissilusioned, apathetic, or bored. Some suffered from a deluded "sense of entitlement"- a feeling that life owes them something, that there is an etopia to be found out there without commitment and cost. Others suffer the accumulated disillusionment of years of medeia influence. they grew up thinking that life would be as wonderful as it is portrayed in the movies or on television. In general, we are a generation that wants the reward of adult life without doing the hard work and commitment required to get them.
We live in a culture that tells us our dreams can be realised with much hard work and positive thinking. Often, with great pain we learnt that we cant always have want we delebrately want. Perhaps a marriage leaves us lonelier than we thought possible, or a single life feelslike an inescapable prison, or sexual drives remain fustrated or vocational advancement have been blocked, or health evades us, or God seems to have locked Himself in an unresponsive heaven- disappointment comes in a variety of ways and it can send us stright into the pit.

WHY WOMEN ?

The crisis facing women folk around the world today is on the alarming increase. Global abuse to female such as-Sex trafficking, child brides, girl soldier, domestic violence, honour killings, is becoming issues of concern. Unfortunalety the world is paying little or no attention to this plight.Some of this problem are;
Domestic violence is the most widespread form of abuse against women in the world today. Between one-quarter and one half of women have been abuse by a partner. Only 44 countries specifically protect women against domestic violence. In several part of the world, it is considered as a normal part of marriage. Women are increasingly being attack by husbands for minor offences such as not having dinner ready or refusing sex. The man is very seldom persecuted. In some countries the woman who files such application is herself in danger of persecution unless she can prove that she was not a willing partner in the adultery or fornication. In other words, the victim herself is guilty until proven innocent.
Another issue of concern is circumcision also refered to as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). It refers to the removal of the part or all of the female genitalia. It may be carried out anytime from a girl"s birth birth to her first pregnancy. The labial minoral is often removed leving the labial majora exposed to infections. In most societry where mutilation is practised, a girl is not accepted into womanhood untill this is carried out.Girls under FGM often esperience phychological trauma, pain and shook. Haemorrhage and tissue damage can cause death. Infection like- Urinary tract infection, kidey related problem , infertility may occur. The most detrimental is the increasing chance of HIV/AIDS.
Furthermore, In Africa and Asia, early marriage foces young girls to have sex when their bodies arev not fully developed. This make them vunerable to HIV infection. Abration and tearing away also result. Transmission of HIV from men to women is twice as likely than from women"s risk of contacting HIV. The risk is especially high in case of unwilling sex.
There is nothing in comparison to the problem of stigmatisation faced by women. It is time to fight this scorge. Stop this discrimination, unfair treatement, mishaps, cruety treatement, humiliation and all the undo hardship pondered on the women folk. We must dare to make a change. Start now, it begins with you.

VARIETY-THE SPICE OF LIFE

Existence is interestilly exiting especially when hope and aspiration are forth coming and dreams are achieved. However, life is not a bed of roses or a bed of thongs either. Upalatable situation are sometimes inevitable, which if care is not taken will jeopardise onews chance of success.
Variety is a spice of life, so life cannot be thrilling if all things are monotonous and sterotyped without any form of variation. Even the creation as a whole is a catalog of variety. But spicy variation of all human expresion.
In such a situation when all attriculated efford fails, one need to stand his ground and think critically before taking any dicision

A BATTLE WORTH FIGHTING-POVERTY

Poverty literally means living below the average standard of living. It is a condition that has creepled the ambition of hundreds of its captives. The yardstick to measure the standard of a nation is to measure the rate of poverty in that nation.
In Nigeria today, eradicating poverty is one of the top agenda of the government. Despite this, 63% of the rural dwellers live below the poverty level of 1 dolar per day. Statistical data shows that the poverty level in the country was 28% in 1980. It rose to 70% in 1999, and later to 54.5% in 2004. We are somewhere at about 50%. That implies that we have over 70 milion Nigeria in poverty. The factor responsible for this is that population grew more than the economic. The population grew grometrically while food grew arithmetically.
Infectious diseases like cholera, dysentry, tuberculosis, etc has greately affect the people. in addition, wars, famine, anti- social vices, HIV/AIDS, etc are all effect of poverty.
Delay in the release of fund and implementation of programmes are some of the problems facing the eradication of poverty. Fund that is suppose to be use for programmes that will support the eradication of poverty are being diverted. Corruption must be checked if the battle against poverty will be achieved.
The government should establish :
1. Microfinance banks where loans will be given to small scale traders with minimal or no insterest.
2. Skills acquisition programmes centers.
For poveryty to be eradicated, all hands must be on deck. We must ensure we become involved in this fight.

The world speak of globalization while poverty is eating deep into the fabrics of people like cancerous cells.
Poverty is the state of the majority of the world" population and Nation. It is a limitation that has caged more than half of the world citizen. It has create discripancy between the rich and the poor. Well abled people that would have made adifference in their community today are seen roaming the street because of nothing to do. Children who would have made better grade, do exploits tomorrow have been lost in the ocean of darkness. Prostitution, child trade, child abuse, hacking, famine, wars, robbering are on the increase on a daily basis today because of poverty.
Who will bring smiles to the face of this children? Who will speak to the Government to help give the right of the citizen a great priority.
