LIVE FREE FROM FEAR

Is it possible to free from fear in this dangerous and unpredictable world? Yes, it most definitely is! Because protection is a solid promise of God.
But it is a promise that is offered to just anyone: it is a promise to those who abide in the lord. To abide means to dwell, to remain and to continue. To abide in the shadow of the almighty is live in continual union with him, keeping his word and obeying his voice. Those who abide in the lord can live without the dread of what the devil will do.
Let me make this clear through-Gods promise of protection doesn’t guarantee that the devil will leave you alone ! it means that God will give you a way of escape every time the devil rears his ugly face at you.
If you are afraid of the dangers around you, spend more time in the word and in prayer until your trust in God overcomes your fear. Draw
closer to God until you are abiding in the shadow of the almighty and- no matter how dangerous this world becomes, he surely shall deliver you!
KNOWLEDGE SKILL OF NONVIOLENCE ACTION STRUGGLE IN NIGERIA

Knowledge, mean information and understanding about a subject, which someone has in his mind. Skill on its own is the knowledge and ability to do something well.

Violence is a behavior which intends to hunt, or injure or kill people, while struggle means applying all seriousness and achieving something regardless of difficulties.

In Nigeria today, violence have caused us a lost of harm, it is affected us in so many ways, violence has diverted the interest of foreign investor, caused so much death, left may people injured and some physically challenged. Our economy would have been far better than what it is today if we had a good knowledge and skill of non violence action and struggle and also practice it.

The bible says that “the devil cometh not but to still kill and destroy” Youths are the devil’s target for the instrument of violence, and most of them lose their lives in the struggle, and their ends their bright future and good contributions they would have made to their generation.

The knowledge and skill of non violence and struggle is the key to conflict way resolution in Nigeria because by its nature, it contains no intention of hurting, injure and killing. With the knowledge and skill of nonviolence actions, the aim of a struggle can be achieved not with violence.

Violence have not done us any good and will not until we take it up as our point of duty to put a stop to it, by applying the knowledge and skill of nonviolence action and struggle. If Nigerian youths will stand up and say no to violence, we will have better Nigerians, better economy, better government and a better country.

If these youth who are engaged in violent action will be thought a better way to struggle for their right or whatever they want, and get convinced that with nonviolence action they can achieve at lest 75%-80% of what they want, they will have no option than to change their pattern of struggle from violence to nonviolence.

Youths from the 36 states of Nigeria can organize a reconciliation programe, in all the states to empower fellow youths with the knowledge and skills of nonviolence actions and struggle. These will help to achieve the spread of the knowledge and skill of nonviolence and struggle in Nigeria.

Having the knowledge skill of violence struggle is not all it takes, it takes move than that because knowledge and skills without work is equal to zero result. The Youths who acquired this knowledge and skills should be engaged in practice of nonviolence action and struggle and report to a superior person, so that success can be calculated.

Finally, time has come when we should know the kind of country we want and work tirelessly to achieve it. The government may not give us all we want, to achieve this goal, they may delay to give the little they can but we don’t have to wait.

Dialogue and reaching a compromise can also help as factors of nonviolence action and struggle, with the above few words of mine, the knowledge and skills of nonviolence action and struggle will be achieve, and its practice will give us a better Nigeria.

Many countries in Africa, such as Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, D R
Congo, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Cote d?Ivoire have been suffering from
different forms of violent conflicts, mostly intra-state conflicts
(i.e., inter-ethnic conflicts, resource based conflicts), for several
decades. Many conflicts have been prolonged by the absence of
democratic political leadership and structures that would accommodate
political voices, protect civil rights, and respect the rule of law. Young
people have suffered the most from violent conflict and have been the most
disempowered. In the case of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, the
cause of the escalating violent conflict and youth restiveness is
traceable to oil exploration in the region and the deplorable living
condition being faced by peoples of the region. Despite their
discouraging environments, however, many young people in the Niger
Delta region have engaged in various activities to effect positive
change in their communities.

Empowering young activists with knowledge and skills, and developing
their capacity for future leadership, would contribute significantly
in helping to prevent violent conflict and promote citizen
participation through nonviolent action in Nigeria especially in the
Niger Delta region.

While many organizations and activist groups throughout Africa and
Nigeria have engaged in conflict-resolution projects, and while
youth organizations have certainly not been exceptions, many of
those projects have not fully taken
into account the link between nonviolent struggle and sustainable democracy.
Previous projects have focused mainly on developing personal peer-mediation
and negotiation skills, such as nonviolent means for young people in schools
and universities to solve their own disputes. They mostly aim to train
participants to become experts in those skills.

Participants will be young activists working on such issues as human rights,
the rule of law, and civic education. They will study the causes of conflict
but, just as importantly, will also examine how their own community
activities -- defending human rights, fighting for social justice and
calling for the rule of law -- puts pressure on governments to
respond to citizen's demands for basic justice, rights and freedom.

Participants will also have important opportunities to exchange their ideas
and experiences in the course of the workshop, as well as in such informal
settings as lunches, dinners, and film screenings. Participants will develop
contacts to continue their discussions and hopefully to develop collaborative
efforts for advancing their issues in the region.

Becoming active members in the Nigeria Youth Forum project will be an
additional benefit of participation. Participants will be included in
the network's e-mail discussion lists and will be invited to
participate in future activities.
Date: 13th to 19th July 2008

Agenda.
The training program will run for five days, and sessions will be conducted
and facilitated by veteran activists of past civilian nonviolent struggles.
Workshop coordinators will be the staff of the International Center on
Nonviolent Conflict and the Center for Applied Nonviolent Action and
Strategies (CANVAS).

- 1ST day : History of Nonviolent Action
- 2nd day: Setting Your Vision of Tomorrow
- 3rd day: Models and Sources of Power; Methods of Action
- 4th day: Planning, Communications and Creating Audience Impact
- 5th day: Managing a Nonviolent Movement

The program will include film screenings of successful nonviolent
struggles in the 20th century. The workshop will conclude with a
session in which participants will discuss
possible follow-up activities using the skills they have learned in
the course
of the program. Such follow-up activities could include collaborative
projects among participants, but also the subsequent training programs at
the local level that they themselves will be encouraged to conduct upon their
return home.

Expected Outcomes.
? Participants shall constitute a Nigeria Trainers of
Trainers on Nonviolent Conflict and a substantial database for all YDI
follow up activities surrounding this issue,

? Participants will develop draft follow-up activities, such as small
workshops/training programs, in their respective communities. The
follow-up activities will strengthen civil society networks by
introducing them to the field of nonviolent conflict.

? Strengthening a network of Nigerian / African young leaders
committed to Non
Violent struggle. The network will serve as a peer-review and teaching
mechanism by evaluating each other?s activities and sharing
information and experiences.

? A Nigeria regional Network for Nonviolent Action will be created to
highlight Nigeria participant?s work as well as act as a resource and
knowledge base for practitioners and trainers in Africa and
elsewhere. This knowledge base will include access to training
materials, grant information, scholarship information, scholarly
publication material, and project ideas on reconstruction, dialogue,
democracy, good governance, and reconciliation models.

Sub-Saharan Africa is more heavily affected by HIV and AIDS than any other region of the world. An estimated 22.5 million people were living with HIV at the end of 2007 and approximately 1.7 million additional people were infected with HIV during that year. In just the past year, the AIDS epidemic in Africa has claimed the lives of an estimated 1.6 million people in this region. More than eleven million children have been orphaned by AIDS.1

The extent of the AIDS crisis is only now becoming clear in many African countries, as increasing numbers of people with HIV are becoming ill. In the absence of massively expanded prevention, treatment and care efforts, it is expected that the AIDS death toll in sub-Saharan Africa will continue to rise. This means that impact of the AIDS epidemic on these societies will be felt most strongly in the course of the next ten years and beyond. Its social and economic consequences are already widely felt, not only in the health sector but also in education, industry, agriculture, transport, human resources and the economy in general.
How are different countries in Africa affected?

Both HIV prevalence rates and the numbers of people dying from AIDS vary greatly between African countries. In Somalia and Senegal the HIV prevalence is under 1% of the adult population, whereas in South Africa and Zambia around 15-20% of adults are infected with HIV.

In four southern African countries, the national adult HIV prevalence rate has risen higher than was thought possible and now exceeds 20%. These countries are Botswana (24.1%), Lesotho (23.2%), Swaziland (33.4%) and Zimbabwe (20.1%).

West Africa has been less affected by AIDS, but the HIV prevalence rates in some countries are creeping up. HIV prevalence is estimated to exceed 5% in Cameroon (5.4%), Côte d'Ivoire (7.1%) and Gabon (7.9%).

Until recently the national HIV prevalence rate has remained relatively low in Nigeria, the most populous country in sub-Saharan Africa. The rate has grown slowly from below 2% in 1993 to 3.9% in 2005. But some states in Nigeria are already experiencing HIV infection rates as high as those now found in Cameroon. Already around 2.9 million Nigerians are estimated to be living with HIV.

Adult HIV prevalence in East Africa exceeds 6% in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Trends in Africa's AIDS epidemic

Large variations exist between the patterns of the AIDS epidemic in different countries in Africa. In some places, the HIV prevalence is still growing. In others the HIV prevalence appears to have stabilised and in a few African nations - such as Kenya and Zimbabwe - declines appear to be under way, probably in part due to effective prevention campaigns. Others countries face a growing danger of explosive growth. The sharp rise in HIV prevalence among pregnant women in Cameroon (more than doubling to over 11% among those aged 20-24 between 1998 and 2000) shows how suddenly the epidemic can surge.

Overall, rates of new HIV infections in sub-Saharan Africa appear to have peaked in the late 1990s, and HIV prevalence seems to have declined slightly, although it remains at an extremely high level. Stabilisation of HIV prevalence occurs when the rate of new HIV infections is equalled by the AIDS death rate among the infected population. This means that a country with a stable but very high prevalence must be suffering a very high number of AIDS deaths each year. Although prevalence has declined, the number of Africans living with HIV is rising due to general population growth.
What is the effect of these high levels of HIV infection?

Over and above the personal suffering that accompanies HIV infection, the AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa threatens to devastate whole communities, rolling back decades of development progress.

Sub-Saharan Africa faces a triple challenge of colossal proportions:

* Providing health care, support and solidarity to a growing population of people with HIV-related illness, and providing them with treatment.
* Reducing the annual toll of new HIV infections by enabling individuals to protect themselves and others.
* Coping with the cumulative impact of over 20 million AIDS deaths on orphans and other survivors, on communities, and on national development.

What is the impact of AIDS on Africa?

HIV AIDS are having a widespread impact on many parts of African society. The points below describe some of the major effects of the AIDS epidemic. For a more detailed examination, visit our African impact page.
AIDS orphans on the grave of their parents

AIDS orphans on the

grave of their parents

* In many countries of sub-Saharan Africa, AIDS is erasing decades of progress made in extending life expectancy. Millions of adults are dying from AIDS while they are still young, or in early middle age. Average life expectancy in Sub-Saharan Africa is now 47 years, when it could have been 62 without AIDS.
* The effect of the AIDS epidemic on households can be very severe. Many families are losing their income earners. In other cases, income earners are forced to stay at home to care for relatives who are ill from AIDS. Many of those dying from AIDS have surviving partners who are themselves infected and in need of care. They leave behind orphans, grieving and struggling to survive without a parent's care.
* In all affected countries, the HIV/AIDS epidemic is putting strain on the health sector. As the epidemic develops, the demand for care for those living with HIV rises, as does the number of health workers affected.
* Schools are heavily affected by HIV/AIDS. This a major concern, because schools can play a vital role in reducing the impact of the epidemic, through education and support.
* HIV/AIDS dramatically affects labour, setting back economic activity and social progress. The vast majority of people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa are between the ages of 15 and 49 - in the prime of their working lives. Employers, schools, factories and hospitals have to train other staff to replace those at the workplace who become too ill to work.
* Through its impacts on the labour force, households and enterprises, HIV/AIDS can act as a significant brake on economic growth and development. HIV/AIDS is already having a major affect on Africa's economic development, and in turn, this affects Africa's ability to cope with the epidemic.

A continued rise in the number of Africans living with HIV and dying from AIDS is not inevitable. There is growing evidence that HIV prevention efforts can be effective, and this includes initiatives in some of the most heavily affected countries.

In some countries there have been early and sustained HIV prevention efforts. For example, effective HIV prevention campaigns have been carried out in Senegal, which is still reflected in the relatively low adult HIV prevalence rate of 0.9%. Also, the experience of Uganda shows that a widespread AIDS epidemic can be brought under control. HIV prevalence in Uganda fell from around 15% in the early 1990s to around 5% by 2001. This change is thought to be largely due to intensive HIV prevention campaigns.

More recently, similar declines have been seen in Kenya, Zimbabwe and urban areas of Zambia and Burkina Faso. However, the extremely severe AIDS epidemics in South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique continue to grow.

Overall a massive expansion in prevention efforts is needed, and although there is no single or immediate tool to prevent new HIV infections, the major components of a successful HIV prevention programme are now known.
Condom use HIV

Condoms play a key role in preventing HIV infection around the world. In Sub-Saharan Africa, most countries have seen an increase in condom use in recent years. In studies carried out between 2001 and 2005, eight out of eleven countries in sub-Saharan Africa reported an increase in condom use.2

The distribution of condoms to countries in sub-Saharan Africa has also increased: in 2004 the number of condoms provided to this region by donors was equivalent to 10 for every man,3 compared to 4.6 for every man in 2001.4 In most countries, though, many more condoms are still needed. For instance, in Uganda between 120 and 150 million condoms are required annually, but less than 40 million were provided in 2005.5

Relative to the enormity of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa, providing condoms is cheap and cost effective. Even when condoms are available, though, there are still a number of social, cultural and practical factors that may prevent people from using them. In the context of stable partnerships where pregnancy is desired, or where it may be difficult for one partner to suddenly suggest condom use, this option may not be practical.
Provision of Voluntary HIV Counselling Testing (VCT)

The provision of voluntary HIV counselling and testing (VCT) is an important part of any national prevention program. It is widely recognised that individuals living with HIV who are aware of their status are less likely to transmit HIV infection to others, and that through testing they can be directed to care and support that can help them to stay healthy. VCT also provides benefit for those who test negative, in that their behaviour may change as a result of the test.

The provision of VCT has become easier, cheaper and more effective as a result of the introduction of rapid HIV testing, which allows individuals to be tested and find out the results on the same day. VCT could – and indeed needs to be – made more widely available in most sub-Saharan African countries.
Mother-to-child transmission of HIV

Around 2 million children in sub-Saharan Africa were living with HIV at the end of 2007. They represent more than 85% of all children living with HIV worldwide.6 The vast majority of these children will have become infected with HIV during pregnancy or through breastfeeding when they are babies, as a result of their mother being HIV-positive.

Mother to child transmission (MTCT) of HIV is not inevitable. Without interventions, there is a 20-45% chance that a HIV-positive mother will pass infection on to her child. If a woman is supplied with antiretroviral drugs, though, this risk can be reduced significantly. Before this measures can be taken the mother must be aware of her HIV-positive status, so testing also plays a vital role in the prevention of MTCT.
An HIV+ child in South Africa

In many developed countries, these steps have helped to virtually eliminate MTCT. Yet Sub-Saharan Africa continues to be severely affected by the problem, due to a lack of drugs, services and information. The shortage of testing facilities in many areas is also contributing. In 2006, preventive drugs reached only 31% of HIV-infected pregnant women in Eastern and Southern Africa, and only 7% in West and Central Africa.7

Given the scale of the MTCT crisis in Africa, it is remarkable that more is not being done (by both the international community and domestic governments) to prevent the rising numbers of children becoming infected with HIV, and dying from AIDS. AVERT is calling for vast improvements in preventing MTCT strategies through our Stop AIDS in Children campaign. This crisis is discussed in more detail in our PMTCT worldwide page.
HIV/AIDS related treatment and care in Africa
Antiretroviral drugs

Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) - which significantly delay the progression of HIV to AIDS and allow people living with HIV to live relatively normal, healthy lives – have been available in richer parts of the world since around 1996. Distributing these drugs requires money, a well-structured health system and a sufficient supply of healthcare workers. The majority of developing countries are lacking in these areas and have struggled to cope with the increasing numbers of people requiring treatment.

For most Africans living with HIV, ARVs are still not available - fewer than one in five of the millions of Africans in need of the treatment are receiving it. Many millions are not even receiving treatment for opportunistic infections, which affect individuals whose immune systems have been weakened by HIV infection. These facts reflect the world’s continuing failure, despite the progress of recent years, to mount a response that matches the scale and severity of the global HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Botswana pioneered the provision of ARVs in Africa, starting its national treatment programme in January 2002. By 2005 this programme was providing treatment to the vast majority of those in need. According to World Health Organisation figures, 84,000 people were receiving treatment at the end of 2006, including those using the private sector, giving a coverage rate above 95%.8 Thousands of lives have been saved as a result.

While most African countries have now started to distribute ARVs, progress in providing sufficient quantities of the drugs has been uneven and Botswana’s success has not been emulated elsewhere. Among the other countries that have made advances are Rwanda and Namibia, where more than 70% of people in need of ARVs are receiving them. In Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi and Zambia, between 25% and 45% of people requiring antiretroviral drugs were receiving them in December 2006. While South Africa is the richest nation in Sub-Saharan Africa and should have led the way in ARV distribution, its government was slow to act; so far, only 33% of those in need of treatment in South Africa are receiving it. In other countries, such as Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, the United Republic of Tanzania and Zimbabwe, the figure is less than 20%.9

Nonetheless, the overall situation is slowly improving; the number of people receiving ARVs in Africa doubled in 2005 alone.10 International support has helped this increase, with numerous governments and international organisations encouraging progress. In 2003 the World Health Organisation (WHO) initiated the ‘3 by 5’ programme, which aimed to have three million people in developing countries on ARVs by the end of 2005. While this target was not reached, a number of African nations made substantial progress under the scheme. The latest international target, ‘All by 2010’, is aiming at universal access to treatment by 2010. In pursuit of this goal it is hoped that considerable progress will be made in Africa's fight against AIDS.

There are still, however, a number of impediments to ARV provision. One major challenge is the fact that the majority of African countries have a poor healthcare infrastructure and a shortage of medical professionals. A considerable emphasis needs to placed not only on the availability of ARVs, but also the availability of professionals who are able to administer the drugs.

Another major challenge is ensuring that drugs are not only supplied to a lot of areas, but that sufficient quantities of drugs are supplied to those areas. This is critically important, because once an individual starts to take ARVs they have to take them for the rest of their life. If, for instance, their local hospital runs out of ARVs, the interruption that this causes in their treatment could result in them becoming resistant to the drugs. To improving treatment programs, African countries face the double challenge of getting new people to start treatment and maintaining the supply of treatment to those who are already receiving ARVs.
Other forms of treatment and care

Treatment and care for HIV consists of a number of different elements apart from ARVs. These include voluntary counselling and testing, food and management of nutritional effects, follow-up counselling, protection from stigma and discrimination, treatment of other sexually transmitted infections, and the prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections. All of these things can, and indeed should, be provided before ARVs are available. This does not exclude the provision of ARVs when they are available. Indeed, when ARVs do become available the provision of antiretroviral therapy should be easier and quicker to implement because many of the things apart from drugs that are needed for successful treatment are already in place.
What needs to be done to make a difference in Africa?

HIV/AIDS awareness

One of the most important ways in which the situation in Africa can be improved is through increased funding. More money would help to improve both prevention campaigns and the provision of treatment and care for those living with HIV. Developed countries have increased funding for the fight against AIDS in Africa in recent years, perhaps most significantly through the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The Global Fund was started in 2001 to co-ordinate international funding and has since approved grants totalling US $3.3 billion to fight HIV and AIDS in Africa.11 Around 60% of the fund’s grants have been directed towards Africa and 60% has been put towards fighting AIDS.12 This funding is making a significant difference, but given the massive scale of the AIDS epidemic more money is still needed.

The US Government has shown a commitment to fighting AIDS in Africa through the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Started in 2003, PEPFAR provides money to fight AIDS in numerous countries, including 15 focus countries, most of which are African. In Fiscal Year 2005, PEPFAR allocated US $1.1 billion to these African focus countries.13 The US Government is also the largest contributor to the Global Fund.

Among other things, organisations like PEPFAR and the Global Fund provide vital support to local and community groups that are working 'on the ground' to provide relief in Africa. These groups are directly helping people in need, and many rely on international funding in order to operate. Getting money from large, international donors to small, 'grassroots organisations' can present a number of difficulties though, as money is lost or delayed as it is passed down large funding chains. Our page about getting money to local organisations discusses these issues, and the work that such groups do.
Domestic commitment

More than money is needed if HIV prevention and treatment programmes are to be scaled up in Africa. In order to implement such programmes, a country’s health, education, communications and other infrastructures must be sufficiently developed. In some African countries these systems are already under strain and are at risk of collapsing as a result of AIDS. Money can also only be used efficiently if there are sufficient human resources available, but there is an acute shortage of trained personnel in many parts of Africa.

In many cases, African countries also need more commitment from their governments. There are promising signs that some governments are starting to respond and becoming more involved in the fight against AIDS, and this commitment needs to be sustained if the severe impact of Africa's AIDS pandemic is to be reduced.
Reducing stigma and discrimination

HIV-related stigma and discrimination remains an enormous barrier to the fight against AIDS. Fear of discrimination often prevents people from getting tested, seeking treatment and admitting their HIV status publicly. Since laws and policies alone cannot reverse the stigma that surrounds HIV infection, more and better AIDS education is needed in Africa to combat the ignorance that causes people to discriminate. The fear and prejudice that lies at the core of HIV/AIDS discrimination needs to be tackled at both community and national levels.
Helping women and girls

In many parts of Africa, as elsewhere in the world, the AIDS epidemic is aggravated by social and economic inequalities between men and women. Women and girls commonly face discrimination in terms of access to education, employment, credit, health care, land and inheritance. These factors can all put women in a position where they are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection. In Sub-Saharan Africa, around 59% of those living with HIV are female.

In many African countries, sexual relationships are dominated by men, meaning that women cannot always practice safe sex even when they know the risks involved. Attempts are currently being made to develop a microbicide – a cream or gel that can be applied to the vagina, preventing HIV infection – which could be a significant breakthrough in protecting women against HIV. Women could apply such a microbicide without their partner even knowing. It is likely to be some time before a microbicide is ready for use, though, and even when it is, women will only use it if they have an awareness and understanding of HIV and AIDS. To promote this, a greater emphasis needs to be placed on educating women and girls about AIDS, and adapting education systems (which are currently male-dominated) to their needs.
The way forward

Tackling the AIDS crisis in Africa is a long-term task that requires sustained effort and planning - both within African countries themselves and amongst the international community. One of the most important elements of the fight against AIDS is the prevention of new HIV infections. HIV prevention campaigns that have been successful within African countries need to be highlighted and repeated.

The other main challenge is providing treatment and care to those living with HIV in Africa, in particular ARVs, which can allow people living with HIV to live long and healthy lives. Many African countries have made significant progress in their treatment programmes in recent years and it is likely that the next few years will see many more people receiving the drugs.

There was a woman called Mrs Rose in a small town called “Enyi”
In this small town, is a church, and Mrs Rose happened to the richest
Person in that church and also the eyes with which they see, Mrs Rose
Will always give to the poor in the public, give huge amount of money
In the church for Gods work and in the community for development, and
People will praise her. One day, Mrs Rose died; in fact it was like the day
of Docas of the Bible, after Mrs Rose was buried, a young man dreamt where he died, and in his dream, an angel took him into a very beautiful place, in that place, he saw many people rejoicing but he did not see Mrs Rose, he became so worried that he told the angel “ there is a woman I am looking for” and the angel asked him the name of the woman, he said Mrs Rose, the angel took him to a large and beautiful seating room, and brought out
a big book, they started searching for the name “Mrs Rose” but from the beginning of the big book to its end, Mrs Rose were not found, the angel took him to a very handsome man, seated in a golden throne in a
Glittering palace, and he complained to the man who dressed like a king. The man gave them another big book, almost at the end of their search, at the last page of the book, behold the name “Mrs Rose”, and the young man jumped in happiness and said to the angel: I told you she is here, but in disappointment, the angel told him that the people whose name are in this book are the people who are in the place of teeth gnashing, immediately the young man cried with a loud voice and said noooo she can not be there.
She was a very good woman, she gave to the work of God, provided for the needy, donated money to the community, how can she do all this things and be there. He pleaded until the angel started pleading to the king on his behalf and after a while, the king decided to give Mrs Rose a second chance and ordered the angel to go get Mrs Rose out of the pit. The angel took a very long rope and went to the pit with the young man, when they got there, the angel laid the rope down into the dip pit and called with a loud voice “Rose”, a faint voice answered and said “I am here sir” the angel told her “ this rope is for you. Hold on to it and climb up so that you can get out of the pit, she was glad to have that opportunity, and without hesitation she held the rope and started climbing with joy.
Mrs Rose climbed and climbed until she was about two fit out of the pit, she now looked down and saw that other people are also climbing up with her, she said to them “why are you climbing up with me? This rope is for me alone, all of you must go down known” she started kicking them on the head saying “go down, go down, go down, go down” in the process of kicking other people, she loosed her grip to the rope and fell back into the deep pit shouting NOOOOOOooooooo. The angel gradually pulled up the rope in disappointment, and the young man cried in agony, the king came and with a gentle voice he said to them, “This is what Mrs Rose was doing when she was alive on earth, she only gave in the public so that people will see her as a rich woman and praise her, she provided for the needy to attract love and respect for her self, she did not do all that in righteousness. She was an obstacle to other people’s progress, she wanted only herself to be seen, she never allowed other people to come up and that is why she is in that pit, even when she has been given a second chance, she could not still repent. She has exhausted her chances of repentance.
The young man cried and cried until he woke up from his dream.

We must be careful the way we live our lives, because after mans marking scheme, God has his own marking scheme and if he does not mark us right, we have failed.
He has a purpose for bringing us into this world and I believe that it is to make the world a better place for humanity by promoting love, peace, unity and living a God fearing life.
If we do not live to achieve this four factors, it means that we are a disappointment to our generation and to God our creator. We are the people to make the world a better place and the time is now, so let’s work harder with sincerity, we are not far from Mr victory.
Our education system is falling day after day; it has become so bad that Nigerians now run to foreign countries in the quest for qualitative education. We all know that federal government allocate millions and billions of naira, to our education sector, yet the sector is not getting better but worsens as the day go by, and there is no doubt that there is an act of embezzlement. Look at the cost of education, it is as though education is made for the rich people only, even at that, it is not as qualitative as it should be. We don’t have enough facilities and infrastructure in most of our institutions, ranging from the primary to the tertiary institutions in this country, the little facilities we have for lectures, some have deteriorated and outdated. The managements are aware of this but nothing is done about it, even when they collect huge amount of fees from student. How can we have qualitative and functional education in an uncomfortable atmosphere with inadequate learning facilities? No way, except we change the hands in the head.

President Yar'Adua's Seven Point Agenda to Transform Nigeria

1.	POWER AND ENERGY – The infrastructural reforms in this critical sector through the development of sufficient and adequate power supply will be to ensure Nigeria’s ability to develop as a modern economy and an industrial nation by the year 2015.
2.	FOOD SECURITY – This reform is primarily agrarian based. The emphasis on the development of modern technology, research, financial injection into research, production and development of agricultural inputs will revolutionalize the agricultural sector leading to a 5 – 10 fold increase in yield and production. This will result in massive domestic and commercial outputs and technological knowledge transfer to farmers.
3.	WEALTH CREATION – By virtue of its reliance on revenue from non-renewal oil, Nigeria has yet to develop industrially. This reform is focused on wealth creation through diversified production especially in the agricultural and solid mineral sector. This requires Nigerians to choose to work, as hard work by all is required to achieve this reform.
4.	TRANSPORT SECTOR – The transportation sector in Nigeria with its poor roads networks is an inefficient means of mass transit of people and goods. With a goal of a modernized industrialized Nigeria, it is mandatory that Nigeria develops its transport sector. The PDP government has already started this process by the ongoing rehabilitation and modernization of the railway. While the reforms might take some time to take effect, it is a need that must be addressed.
5.	LAND REFORMS – While hundreds of billions of dollars have been lost through unused government-owned landed asset, changes in the land laws and the emergence of land reforms will optimize Nigeria’s growth through the release of lands for commercialized farming and other large scale business by the private sector. The final result will ensure improvements and boosts to the production and wealth creation initiatives.
6.	SECURITY – An unfriendly security climate precludes both external and internal investment into the nation. Thus, security will be seen as not only a constitutional requirement but also as a necessary infrastructure for the development of a modern Nigerian economy. With its particular needs, the Niger Delta security issue will be the primary focus, marshaled not with physical policing or military security, but through honest and accurate dialogue between the people and the Federal Government.
7.	EDUCATION – The two-fold reforms in the educational sector will ensure firstly the minimum acceptable international standards of education for all. With that achieved, a strategic educational development plan will ensure excellence in both the tutoring and learning of skills in science and technology by students who will be seen as the future innovators and industrialists of Nigeria. This reform will be achieved through massive injection of funds into the Education sector.

COMPROMISE

A THOUGHT FOR US!

Compromise is not always bad. Obviously there are moral and ethical standards taught in scripture that leave no room whatsoever for compromise. But compromise is much broader than that. Sometimes it’s wise to compromise. Without, compromise disagreements cannot not be settled, so negotiations grind to halt. A good relationship is maintained and strengthened by compromise. Siblings who do not compromise, fight. Nations with differing ideologies that refuse to listen to each other and won’t compromise at various points, go war.

Are we saying this is easy? Or free from risk? Or that it comes naturally? No. it’s much easier and safer to stand your ground, to keep on believing that your way is the only way to go and that your plan is the only plan to follow. One major problem, however, is that you wind up narrow-minded and alone, or surrounded by non-thinkers. That may be safer, but it isn’t very satisfying.

While pursuing true character, don’t miss wise compromise. Give your heart permission to flex! Be tolerant of those who don’t think like you, don’t care about the things you care about, and don’t vote like you. Be tolerant of those whose fine points of theology differ from yours, whose worship style is different. Be tolerant of the young if you are older and tolerant of older if you are young. Jesus wanted his followers to be people of simple faith, modeled in grace, based on truth. We could get hurt but it worth it to. In relationships, conflict is inevitable. REAL LOVE MEANS SAYING YOU’RE SORRY AND MEANING IT.

POOR MATERNAL HEALTH

GOAL 5
Poor maternal health has taken so many lives because of improper care of during pregnancy and misconduct of child delivery.
By my research, I discovered that over 500,000 women die in pregnancy and child delivery annually in the global world, and 60% of them are young girls. I believe that this young girls than die has great future, and would have contributed in one way or the other in the positive change of the world, and what pains me most is that when they die, they die with their ideas, skills and talents.

CAUSES OF POOR MATERNAL HEALTH
1. It is obvious that the number one cause is poverty. A poor pregnant woman cannot afford the cost of quality medical care, good food, and good environment and may die in her pregnancy.
2. Lack of knowledge: people perish for lack of knowledge. Ignorance can lead to death; a pregnant woman who does not know her left from her right can become a victim.
3. Malaria and other diseases: malaria is a disease caused by filthy environment and mosquito bite. A pregnant woman needs a clean environment to ensure good health.
4. Unavailability of adequate medical facilities: where there is inadequate medical facilities, a pregnant woman hardly survive even when she knows what to do.
5. Unavailability of professional medical staff: a pregnant woman can die in the hands of non professional staff, or an inexperienced staff in the process of delivery.
6. Lack of sex and reproductive knowledge: some young pregnant women do not have the knowledge of stages of reproduction and therefore can die in the fear of a particular development during pregnancy.
7. Complete or poor absent of family planning.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
a) Government should cite or increase the number of health care centre in various rural areas, because 60% of the affected women are from the rural areas. Some people travel from far distances to obtain medical care. This is not fair. Health centers should be spread all over the rural areas, so that people will not spend the little money they have in transportation before getting to the health care center. There should be fast access to maternal health services.
b) The health centers should be equipped with adequate medical facilities.
c) There should always be professional staff in the health centers to discharge quality services. Intermittent therapy should always be in store, and special provision should be made for the treatment of malaria in pregnancy.
d) Weekly or monthly teaching for pregnant women in rural areas, especially those who are conceiving for the first time. In my church, New Life Worship Center, we organize monthly teaching and prayers for pregnant women and women who are newly married; we have not recorded any bad news in pregnancy and delivery.
e) Provision should be made for poor pregnant women who cannot afford the cost of quality medical care, so that lives will be saved.

I hereby call on government, NGOs, profit making and non profit making organizations and passionate individuals to help or partner with me in mission of eradication of poverty.
I believe there is hope for the poor
REMEDIES FOR BODY ODOR
An unpleasant odor is caused by several factors:
Heavy sweating (perspiration), which may occur under the arms, groin palms, sole of the feat and fore-head: And this may result from:
I.	Hormonal charges during puberty intense emotional stress may stimulate the sweat glands under the armpit of groin to produce excessive sweat.
II.	Excess iodine in the body may cause sweaty hands.
III.	Prolonged wearing of nylon socks and shoes etc.
IV.	Change of stage in life, such as menopause.

An offensive body odor is produced when the rapidly growing bacterial or fungi attack the sweat that is produced. Night sweat should be properly investigated in order to rule out serious health problems like tuberculosis and syphilis.

Body odor may be as the result of poor personal hygiene.

International pollution associated with constipation.

Intake of some foods like garlic, onion, fish, eggs, red meat, excessive caffeine, fried and baked food items that contain rancid fats and oil.

Over growth of yeast cell, due to excessive consumption of whit sugar.

Cigarette smoking and alcohol beverage consumption. It may be associated with more serous health problem such as:
	Liver and kidney problems.
	Fungi and yeast infection
	Metabolic disorder e.g. diabetes mellitus.
	Deficiency of vital mineral like zinc.
	Low blood sugar level etc.

As soon as the above mentioned health problem are ruled out, it then become less difficult to eradicate an offensive body odor.

REMEDIES
1.	Avoid processed food, white sugar and white flour products, hydrogenated oil, spicy foods like onions and garlic, alcoholic and caffeine containing beverages and smoking.
•	Embark on detoxification which includes: copious intake of water.
•	Occasional intake of plain water or Aloe Vera gel enema or colonic irrigation.
•	Regular intake of diluted lemon juice with ice cube.
•	Fresh tomatoes and sage juice fluted pumpkin juice as a souse of chlorophylls
• Intake of up to 5g of activated charcoal every day, especially if the body odor is associated with bad breath.
2.	During the detoxification therapy, take herbs and supplements such as:
•	Stringing nettle for blood purification.
•	Sage tea to stop excessive sweating.
•	Zinc up to 5mg daily.
•	High potency vitamin b complex
•	Digestive enzymes
•	Chlorophylls are very essential.
•	Chewing fresh leaves of parsley.

3.	Improve personal hygiene:
Shave the armpit, groin and the pubic heir regularly. Bath and scrub those areas with soaped sponge. These are the parts of the body that harbor the fast growing odor producing micro-organisms.
After drying, any of the following can be applied:
•	Alum,
•	Aloe Vera gel,
•	castor oil,
•	white vinegar,
•	Diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide,
• Baking powder or cornstarch.

                              THE RIGHT MIND

Behind every successful person, there is a secret. The secret is heard working. In this generation, almost every thing is possible, do not attach impossibility to things you want to do, others may fail, in that same thing they failed, you can succeed, you do not have the same destiny with another person because destiny defers.
If you want to succeed in life, do not criticize people but ask questions, discover what works for you, what work for Mr. a, may not work for Mr. b. do not do something because others are doing it, because it may not work for you. Do not be intimidated by other peoples success, your own pattern may be the best just try it out with your own formula. It may be difficult in the beginning, don’t stop, and press forward. No matter what business it is, no matter how small the business is, do not be ashamed go ahead and do it because God raises the poor from the dust. Make your own a spa she, it must work for you. I know a woman in Abia State University, Nigeria, who sales African salad in the school, though there are many people in the same business with her, but she makes the highest sales because she added her own pattern. What is this pattern? She packages her African salad in take away packs (foil) just like a fast food fried rice, and that is just the difference. If you are not progressing, do not blame anybody because no human can determine your destiny, be creative, think hard, say yes when people say no, say I can when they say you say cant, and always pray to God for wisdom.
You don’t make money by struggling but you make money by thinking heard. Be self dependent, do not dependent on any body. Now let me tell you something, a child crawl before standing then walking and then running. Your ability to rise when you fall makes you the great person. Always attach hope and purpose in the things you are doing. Do not make budget more than the amount of money you have, start with what you have, and plan to improve, grow and multiply it, because little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. Learn how to do other thing, be versatile, but do not be jack of all trade and master of none. Learn how to use modern technologies; you can even apply it in what you do. Don’t be monotypes rather be multytype because some businesses are seasonal and you can take advantage each. Do not take pride in poverty it is not worth it.
Who said that women cannot make money, women are doing exploit in this world. Women make multi million businesses, buy cars, build houses, and even contest with men in life activities. Choose to be rich today, your gender and age cannot be a bearer, determination is the key to achievement. Poverty is Inability to finance your expenses. Please send it back to history.

                                                    LET’S STOP THEMO
Internet fraud is now the cheapest way to steal, most armed robbers has suspended robbery and joined the internet fraud stars. They now have a club in my local community, which is making them stronger every day. I don’t how much joy youths like me derive in making people cry. This young men and ladies will spend the whole of their day in the cyber café, sending FAKE later. Please do not reply mails such as: YOU HAVE WON, when you know that you did not contest for any thing. I NEED YOUR HELP, telling you how they want you to help them transfer millions of dollars into your bank account, 40% FOR YOU and all that. JOB OPPORTUNITIES, YOU HAVE WON AMERICAN VISA; LOTTERY, CLAIM YOUR MONEY, BUSINESS PROPRSAL. So on and so forth
All this pieces me off because it has dented our image so much in the global world, and it is not acceptable by me, we are no longer trusted, opportunities are withheld, from us, most of our parents do not trust us again, and most have concluded that every thing done in the internet is yahoo yahoo, that is the name for fraud in my community. In the cause of research, I discovered that some parents encourage their children to join this dirty act just because they see others do it and succeed, and some parents are into it. It is said that charity begins at home, when our parents engage in such immoral activities, what kind of future generation do they expect? I don’t know what you see but I see a generation that will stand out and say: we refuse to be corrupted, we refuse to be immoral, and we refuse to do what every body do even when our parents like it, because, that every body do it does not make it right, we stand out for positive change, good governance and leadership. Please let’s work as a team and combat cyber crime, and regain our integrity.

HOW I CAN CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE

HOW I CAN CREAT POSITIVE CHANGE

Creating positive change means, turning or doing something to turn an unfavorable situation into a favorable one.
There are situations in our community today, that demands for positive change, these bad or unfavorable situations can be found in every facet of life, namely, economic life, social and political life. There are a number of devisable means that I can use to create positive change.

Buying and selling of shaves has been in existence for a long period of time, in our community, but due to lack of knowledge, most of people are ignorant of it. I can create positive change by orientating and multivating the people of our community within my reach to invest their money into buying of shares, and trading on stock. Briefly, buying of share simply means part ownership of a business, which gives the investor right of having share in the distributable profit of the business, known as dividend, on annual basis. Trading on stock on its own is the act of reselling the shares as it rises and also buying more as it falls.
This is a lifetime investment, it is a simple way of making money without stress, with or without an educational certificate. The only thing it requires is proper orientation and little cash for a start.
I will not only orient our people but will also encourage them to orientate and motivate other people within their reach.

There is this problem facing our community today, discovery has it that in the nearest future time, crops will hardly grow in some part of our community, as the result of the use of “cellophane” generally known as “water proof”. As a matter of fact, cellophanes does not expire or decay. It has a way of affecting the soil negatively. Soil where much cellophane are wasted hardly grow crops, if it grow, the harvest will not be fruitful.
Cellophanes can be recycled if there is an organized means of gathering them after use, instead of wasting them.

I can save our community from this agricultural disaster that is approaching, by devising a means of gathering the cellophanes and recycling them for more use or by discovering through research, a chemical that can be added during its production, that can make it turn into dust on a specified expiring date, it I have the required material to do so.

Most of our young graduates do not think of doing something else apart from getting employed, I believe that we do not acquire knowledge to work for other people only, we also acquire knowledge to develop our skills and idea. We can establish ourselves and employ others as well.

I will do anything within my power including organizing seminars and work shop to lecture our people on how they can establish themselves with little or no capital I will also give financial assistance to people which I discover has the hunger to become self employed, if I have the financial resources.

One of the reasons why our leaders especially political leaders fail, is that they do not have passion for the people they lead. They pretend to have interest of the people at heart, but they are very selfish that they can embezzle money allocated for the interest of the masses who elected them into the leadership position. They do not care about the poor, they are only interested about themselves and few people around them such as: family, friends relations.

If I find myself in a high political position, I will be faithful to the people, speak their mind and also protect their interest. I will create job opportunities, ensure that peace is maintained, provide medical and educational facilities, construct good roads for easy transportation, infastruction and make life less expensive for the people of our community and above all, ensure that transparency is maintained.

One of the reasons why most of our youths get themselves into trouble that destroys their bright future is that they do not have good advisers, some don’t even have. This is the reason why beautiful and handsome young people involve themselves into fraudulent activities that ends them up in prison. It is also the reason why many jobless and non educated youths are seen wondering about, which in most cases results to getting them involved into robbery activities armed and unarmed.

I can create positive change into this horrible situation by devising a means of bringing our youth together at intervals, giving advice that will change their life for good. I can go as far as inviting dignities from different profession to advice and propel our youths into prosperity.

It has been the hunger of my heart to establish a firm that base on youth ring information on job opportunities from all parts of the world. I have in mind opportunities for all level of people, not just for graduated alone.
When I get this information, I will invite peoples to apply, specifying clearly the types of job available and its nature, countries where the job in obtainable, the state and complete address of the employee,
I believe it will be a job seeking made easy firm.

I can create positive change by organising programes where talented youths will come and showcase their talent and skills which will include: musical, craft and sports talents. I will organize the programe after connecting personalities and companies who are willing and looking for talented youths to sponsor.
I strongly believe that doing this, will bring young stars to lime light and drive many youth into their destiny and also make their dreams come true.

During the days of our fathers, farming was highly valued, as it was a major means of earning a living. Almost every family where involved in farming activities. But today, nobody wants to farm again, everybody want to do the white color job.

I will do my possible best to encourage the people of our community to go back to farming. Only few people are into it now, and it is affecting our economy negatively. Some see it as a dirty job, while some see say it is a job meant for illiterates. It not true. Graduates can farm and even do it better.

Agriculture is one of the causes we study in the school, and farming comes under it, we also have collages of agriculture. There are many types of farming namely: cassava farm, fish, snail, yam, and animal farm. One can choose one or more.
One thing I am sure of, is that it pays to firm.

This is the little way out of many means of how I can create positive changes,
