Currently, I work on the Open Documentary Community of Bridging the Gap, an online platform for a new generation in international development. Unfortunately, the website is partly in Dutch, but english entries are welcome too.

Corinne van Egeraat works on the documentary film Bridging the Gap, in which she follows Daniel Knoop, an Associate Professional Officer for the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. Daniel is not the only highly educated who searches for ways to build his CV and simultaneously make a difference in the world. These ‘world managers’ show ways of involvement that differ from the former generations in international development.

The Open Documentary Community of Bridging the Gap is a platform for all those who feel the need to share ideas on a new generation that combines the sustainable with the profitable. Besides a blog of the filmmaker, you find a discussion forum with articles of a.o. Farid Tabarki and Evert Nieuwenhuis, and several blogs from young professionals working abroad. Moreover, you are invited to add all you like on the subject: articles, posts, video’s, etc. You could also apply for you own blog.

Find Bridging the Gap at weblogs.hollanddoc.nl/bridgingthegap
Bridging the Gap is a pilot of Doc Blogs, a project of Holland Doc, the online documentary platform of the Dutch Broadcasting Television, www.hollanddoc.nl.
