Location: Hotel Goodwill, Patan, Nepal (just outside of Kathmandu)

Dates: February 2nd - 13th (The course will break Saturday and Sunday, February 7-8.)

Who should attend?
Development practitioners, project directors, and volunteers working with local or international NGOs, government officials, funding agencies, community leaders, extension workers, and relief workers making the transition to development (or post disaster reconstruction) will all benefit from this course. This course is open to everyone who would like to attend (irrespective of academic or professional background).

What is required to attend?
The course will be offered in English only. Village Earth and STARIC Nepal encourage participants with no funding to seek sponsorship in their respective countries, as we are currently unable to provide sponsorship for our training services. Tuition and Registration information follows:

Tuition:

For residents of Nepal, other SAARC countries or other countries who are considered low or medium on the UNHDI or employees of locally based NGOs
- $375 (Nepal Rs 30,000) tuition + refreshments
- $625 tuition plus shared accommodations + meals (12 days)
- $700 tuition plus single accommodations + meals (12 days)


Residents of North America/EU/Australia or employees of internationally based NGOs
- $500 tuition + refreshments
- $750 tuition plus shared accommodations + meals (12 days)
- $825 tuition plus single accommodations + meals (12 days)

*A $100 USD non-refundable registration fee due in order to reserve your spot in the training and is included in the prices quoted above. The remainder of the course fee is due by January 14, 2009.

Adams (1990) :: ..the concept of sustainable development cannot be understood in a historical vacuum... necessary to understand the changes in thinking and practice from which the concept has developed. Of particular importance are the changes in thinking about what constitutes development and how best to achievce it, and changing ideas about the 'environment'.
We youth, in this particular issue, need to access if our each and every thinking, actions are sustainably favourable for the planet Earth? We are the part of the 'population bomb' ; its critical time to access how green we think and how we transform those thoughts into actions.
Few examples to check, have we begun ?? ::
1> replaced traditional bulbs with CFLs?
2> planted and cared some 5 trees?
3> walked some less than 5 Kms, rather than using automobiles?
4> reused the back side of 'printed and outdated non-confidential letters'?
5> ...
6> ...
This will become a BIG checklist, so as to incorporate the actions of 'two worlds :: developing and developed'.
Rest is upon us, lets transform our enthusiasm into actions ..

We are in tough days to manage our internal affairs by-self.
Nepal and given a head-start to punish some criminal activities.
We need and give; we share; with CHINA a full support to establish peace and prosperity.
We applaud China to create a prosperous Nation and similar neighbor..
But in these context, i would like to stay calm ask respective governments to find and punish the criminal activities.

Now,i find my experienceas a school teacher and as an educator very satisfactory. Also i have some other visions in life. But educating children is the job that i will never stop. As they are new=peoples in this sustainably-developing world. Also we feel happy that they understand issues like environmental conservation, global friednship, culture, geography, science and all.
