Don’t take life too seriously; have some fun. Nobody gets out alive anyway

     Have fun.
The most important piece of advice I can give you is to have fun. What’s life without fun? There’s more to life than surviving. Here’s some more of my great advice.
It doesn’t matter what other people think, what matters is what you think.
Don’t talk about other people behind their backs. If you have something to say, say it to their face. Treat others the way you want to be treated. So, if you hit someone, don’t be surprised when you end up in the hospital.
Learn to play an instrument. Scientists and other important people say it makes you smarter. Where as multi-tasking makes you less smart. So do one thing at a time. It might be painfully slow, but later you’ll be happy you took the time.
Don’t procrastinate. Do your work when you’re supposed to. Even though you tell yourself “Oh I can do that tomorrow.” Sometimes you can’t. If you do put work off, then you feel all stressed, and rushed. Believe me. I know. Ignore the little devil on your shoulder and get your work done on time.
And remember to dance as though no one is watching you. Love as though you’ve never been hurt. Sing as though no one can hear you, and live as though heaven is on earth.

It's not the pitt bulls that have the problem, it's their owners. If you have a bad owner you'll have a bad dog. Also, it's not just pitt bulls that attack, any dog will if provoked or is raised wrong. This law will create more problems. Well i'v said what i think about the law i want to hear all your opinions please :)

How can people be so stupid to let capital punishment go on. There is no reason for us to be killing ourselves, especially since it isn't neccisary. There is no proof that it reduces crime in any way. ALso any country that got rid of it didn't have crime rates go up. It's so pointless and unessicery but there are still countries that do it. This madness must be put to a stop! For one, people have been given the capital punishment even though they were innocent. Also, it costs a lot more to kill a prisoner than keep him/her locked up for life. Also if I had the choice between getting the death penalty and getting life in prison, I'd choose death. I think that life in prison is worse tahn death because there isn't anything to look forward to and it's in general a better punishment. I hope people open there eyes and see that it's time to stop these senseless killings.

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home from the war. He called his parents from San Francisco. "Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone.

The parents heard nothing more from him.

A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

There's a miracle called Friendship that dwells in the heart you don't know how it happens or when it gets started but you know the special lift it always brings and you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious gift!

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

The house is dark, my folks aren't home, when my mommy does come I'll try and be nice, so maybe I'll get just One whipping tonight. Don't make a sound! I just heard a car, my daddy is back from Charlie's Bar. I hear him curse. My name he calls. I press myself against the wall I try and hide from his evil eyes. I'm so afraid now I'm starting to cry. He finds me weeping he shouts ugly words,he says its my fault that he suffers at work. He slaps me and hits me and yells at me more, I finally get free and I run for the door. He's already locked it and I start to bawl, he takes me and throws me against the hard wall. I fall to the floor with my bones nearly broken, and my daddy continues with more bad words spoken. "I'm sorry!", I scream but its now much too late. His face has been twisted into unimaginable hate the hurt and the pain again and again Oh please God, have mercy! Oh please let it end!

Sometimes I’m amazed at how selfish and ignorant some people are. There are many species which are on the verge of extinction yet poachers still hunt and kill them and sell there fur.For example the tiger, as you probably know is on the endangered species list and some people still continue to hunt the beautiful creatures and then sell them to rich people who have no real need of it. Why people want to buy fur is beyond me. There’s no point of it, if you really like the feel of fur then buy fake fur. You don’t need to kill an animal just so that you can look “cooler” or more “important” or whatever you think you look like, there’s no point. Anyways why don’t you put yourself in their shoes (or paws), I don’t think you’d like it if people were killing your race so they can have a better coat.

The same sort of thing is going on in Africa. Elephants are needlessly being killed for there tusks to make our homes prettier. Of coarse sometimes you do have to kill them but only because they either kill a human or destroy the crops of one, but you only have to kill the one that led them. Then again in a way it’s our fault they come because taking up the land that was once theirs. That’s not exactly far but since when have humans been fair?

I think the poaching of animals is the stupidist thing mankind has done sofar. Because once a species is gone, there gone forever, and that’ll have a permanent affect on the ecosystem. All animals are connected, plants get food from the sun, small animals eat the plants, larger animals eat them and so on. If you take out one, you screw up them all. We all have to live more harmoniously with nature or we’re all doomed.

When I first heard about the project, I was unsure about it since I had no idea what it was about. Then we did a bunch of writing assignments, which I didn’t really like, but we did them anyway. In fact, I think that they helped us get used to writing formally. Back then, everything was rather vague. All we were doing was writing assignments so the class wasn’t very keen on continuing with TIG. In the end, it turned out to be better than we thought.

Later on in the year, we were finally put into groups of 3 or 4. Some of us would say that it was unfortunate we didn’t get to choose our groups, but that was a good thing because normally we would choose our friends then no work would get done. The first thing we had to do was to find information. I was quite good at searching for facts so I ended up getting the great privilege of finding almost all the facts. I wrote them all out into point-form notes. While we were researching, we began to learn how to work the movie-making programs on the lab tops. Vishu learned quicker then Alice or I did so he was our groups’ computer person. We also had to create pieces of art. Alice is very good at art so that worked out well because Vishu and I aren’t particularly good at art.

If I had the chance to do the project over again, I would jump at it. Although it was hard, it was fun. I learned so much. Looking back, I can’t believe how ignorant and stereotypical I was. I’m a lot more aware of the outside world now. All in all, it’s a bittersweet ending to a bittersweet project.

Stereotypes

Stereotyping is a general description of something or someone, where everything is the same with no individuals. Most stereotypes are harmless, but some can be hurtful to you and those around you. In today’s world there are many stereotypes which effect our way of thinking, and how and what we do. Stereotyping is very unfair and doesn’t give the other person a chance to be who they are. People who are guilty of this have already made up their minds about certain people, and therefore, that is how they will see them whether it’s true of them or not.

I personally don’t like stereotypes because they tend to discriminate against others, and give you the wrong idea about something. Such as, most of the women in the media are good looking and have great bodies, but the average women does not. Another example would be for instance, you’re walking down a street and you see a teen and he/she has wild spiky hair and are in ragged dark clothes, and the first thing you think is that person is a drug dealer or a gangster etc. However, that teenager you saw might be a kind person, who only wanted look different.

There is a very popular stereotype, which is that all policemen are good people that help and protect. I’m not saying that all cops are evil it’s just that some decide to become criminals. Here’s something to think about, a cop would make a good criminal, and a criminal would make a good cop. That essentially means that since cops know how police examine a crime scene they know how to commit a crime, and do it in a way that police wouldn’t be able to catch them. Also, those criminals know the way criminals do thing so that they would know how to catch them easier.

One of the most beautiful things about humans is that each of us is an individual – no two of us is alike. When we stereotype, we miss out on a lot of great friendships or opportunities to learn from each other. Every person has something to contribute to society. Life is so much more interesting and satisfying when we can see people as individuals and discover the wonderful things each person has to offer.

Most adults think that there isn't a shread of truth to the story, but there is. I don't know when, but a long time ago in London England is where the story began. There was a man whos name was Nicholas. He was a rich man (I think). He felt sorry for the poor. So on Christmas Eve, He took bags of money and dropped them down the chimneys of the poor people. I don't know how the story progressed to include a fat jolly man, in a red in white suit. By the way this story is true.

Cruelty Against Animals

"The supposed outlawry of animals and the illusion that our acting against them were without any moral significance is sheer shocking barbarism of the Occident. The animals are no product for our use. We do not owe the animals mercy, but justice." (Arthur Schopenhauer, Philosopher) Mr. Schopenhauer thinks that a meat-free diet is ridiculous.Right now, every animal on earth is at humanity's mercy. Arthur thinks they should not be. Animals are not meant to live lives in which their very existence rests in mankind's incapable hands. The nations do owe creatures justice for the countless acts of cruelty people have done to them. Human beings do not own the animals. He is right. Animals are not natural resources that are waiting to be used by the 'superior' humans. the fact is that some people do not like to eat meat. That is alright. Arthur is slightly over-reacting in his first sentence. However some vegetarians go too far with their opinions against diets which include meat.

The media shows some things it should not. For instance, they show the tapes of the animals being abused. Some teenagers may think it is cool or funny, so they find an animal and mistreat it. There was an incident a while back when some adolesants severly tortured a cat and filmed it. The news played the tape.
apparantly, the producers did not think that the reason the boys did it was because they aired something similar that the team saw.

One man's food is another man's poison. That saying is 100% true. No one should be allowed to test products on animals. Something that is good for humans may harm a dog. It does not seem to matter to anyone that animals are being slaughtered so that people know that the product is safe. Creatures are even infected with diseases that has nothing to do with it, just so that the scientists can find a cure for humans. Of course, it doesn't matter if the animal dies, just as long as people live.

It is a horrid thing humanity has done and is still doing. This cannot go on forever. The line must be drawn somewhere. The only people who have had the right idea are the natives. They are the only truly smart human beings. They take only what they need, nothing more nothing less.
