International Visitors Come to SOTF

We were blessed with five guest from different countries. We were blessed by people from Egypt, Rosseta, Jordon, Malaysia, Algeria. They were teachers all english teachers. While they were here they just got a basic input on what we do here and how we live and learn. We also had the oppurtunity to ask them questions about the places they were from and and get the basic foundation of their cultures and their learning engagements.
After our discussion we had a chance to take them to our main projects and give them a little insight on how we learn. They got to sit in these rooms and interact with the students for about 20 minutes. Once their twenty minutes were up we gave them a tour through our school so they get to see our enviroment. In the afternoon the tour guides had a chance to sit and talk to them on a one on one bases as they ate lunch. When lunch was over unfortunately we had to say good bye to our visitors.

my first day of school

For my first day of high school it was different than any other first day of school i have ever had. We had to arrive at 7:00 am that was very different for me, but that wasn't even the beginning of the day. It all started when we had to march down the street holding up signs that represented our continents. People that drove pass us beeped horns and smiled at us like they were supporting us as a black community. When we approached the school building there were a lot of cameras and business people there to see us arrive.
While we were standing in front of our new school, Mayor John Street was giving us a productive speech about our education. Then we cut the big ribbon and entered the new School of the Future. When we got in the building we were directed straight to the gymnasium. I was so shocked, i started crying and jumping around. The most spiritual part was when we song the school song and everyone jumped up and started clapping faces lit up, that made me even happier that day.
When we were dismissed we were taken to our classrooms. I had never been in a clean and brand new classroom before, and to think that it would be in that class for four years. In the classroom we talked about our expectations of our new school. At that time I only new about three people so i didn't really have anything to say, but we introduced ourselves and got to know everybody. If i didn't know anything else i knew that i had a wonderful teacher.
As the day went on we had lunch with our fiends and family, had a pep-rally with the eagles,76ers, and the Phillie's mascots, and to end the day off we planted a tree in the front of the school and looked at the rock that had "School of the Future 2010" engraved in it to represent the first class of the new school.
That was my most favorite first day of school i have ever had in my many years of attending a new school. Right now i must say that i really enjoy this school and i appreciate having a good opportunity of attending this school. Now, i know everyone in my class and i like many of the students that are around me. I am so glad that came to High School of the Future.
