Thanks to my TIG family that extended their warm Happy B-Day to me. I can honestly say that I am happy with my life and with who I have become. I am now comfortable in my own skin and more appreciative of the things and people in my life. I spent part of my B-day in self-evaluation because nobody knows me better than me. At the end of that evaluation, I realised that I am one happy lady; obviously not because I have done all that I can but because I know where I started and have a clear destination in mind. Once again, thanks to all that remembered.

I want to extend my condolences to anyone here at TIG who lost someone this past year-Sorry for your loss. A friend of mine lost her Mother through lung cancer and it was just a horrible experience even though she is not my own mother. I am so grateful for not losing anyone but such situations reminds me that I have to do what I need to do for the people in my life today not tomorrow because they or me might not be here tomorrow. Sometimes we tend to underappreciate people in our lives that we began to neglect them, putting things off, not calling, not visiting and sometimes engaging in malice or silent treatments. Well once these people are gone, you will regret not doing the right thing. Wishing you can turn back time to tell these people how you really feel about them- well today is your time. Let go and be free.

2007, is here and many of us has prabably forgotten our new year's resolution -that is if had any. It is so sad to me when I hear some people say things like "I don't make new year resolutions." What they are really saying is that they are so perfect, so flawless that they do not need any improvement whatever. Well I am yet to meet that perfect living human. Anyway back to my topic, focus Nina.
Healthy habits should be your watch-word if you want to have a healthier life this new year. Watch what you put into your body system, be active, read some books to keep your brain sharp, get some quality sleep regulary and have a good family/friends network. Spirituality also helps, I know because it helps and guides me regulary.
I want to thank everyone that took out time to call or send mail to me. I was really touched that my family here remembered me, Thanks TIG.
I used that day to reflect on the past year, the future and to access all my relationship. Take a moment to look around you today and see the many blessings surrounding you in different shapes and manner. In the mist of our busy schedules, many have lost their gratitudes for the things they are still able to do. We tend to focus on what we don't have, or things we wish we have. The truth is, pastures always do look greener from afar. Most times those things we wish we have will not make us a happier or better people. I was surprised to see people with my exact name but it was nice knowing you share such personal information with someone you do not even know.

Scientists said that today, January 31st is the worst day of the year.It was announced today that many in USA are depressed this day, January 23rd because of the holidays (christmas) over spending on gifts and other items. This is the day that people can no longer put off their payments from the holidays shopping. Isn't it funny how far people go to put all those gifts payments in their cards during christmas only to be depressed a month later. Is very easy to get caught in christmas spirit of giving and thereby buying stuff that one cannot ordinarly afford. Personally I always refuse to charge any payment to the cards during festive season because one can easily go overboard especially when you are presented with so much sales. If I do not have enough cash to immediately purchase the item, then I had to let that thing go.
Well this is the day of reckoning, continue to be depressed or get a 2nd job to pay up.
My simple advice is- Cut your coat according to your size because credit cards are not gifts but loans that has to be paid back with interests.

I am motivated to become a Health professional because of the things I have seen living in NIgeria. Too many people die everyday from things like malaria, pheumonia and appendicitis. Some of these diseases are preventable by immunization and others like HIV can be prevented if people are properly equiped with the right health education they need. I have two children and both were born in two different countries. My daughter Christabel was born in Aba, Nigeria and my son, Harold was born in Chicago, USA. Different things happened to them when they were born. My girl got most of her immunizations late because the hospitals did not have them on time. A lot could have happened between the times. My son immediately got his shots and was given head to toe examination before he left the hospital. This examinations and results were mandatory and are reported to the government for statistical purposes. This examination allows early detection and treatment of any birth defects.
There is so much to be done all over the world to reduce the incidents of disease. Above all, be aware that a lot depends on you-Health Official.

I wonder how he feels inside knowing that the whole country is watching him go through this job interview. This interview is even different because those interviewing him knows all about him and are likely to spring some surprise news. I can't imagine a prospective employeer knowing all that is to know about me. I guess this is the job for the brave at heart.
My refrigerator is my new best friend since Thanksgiving. I have gained some extra pounds since then of course. I wake up thinking about food, when I am sleeping, I dream about food too. This whole obsession with food is kind of new to me. I am over-eating because I have a void to fill? or because of the holiday season?
Incidently food taste a little different to me now, it is like a new discovering. It could have been worst if not that I buy mostly fruits and vegetable and other healthy foods like organic foods. Sometimes I just open the refrigerator to stare at the food and then I get this urge that I gotta gotta eatttttttttttt something now. I get high from eating and it feels really good. This is how people get obese or fat and I keep telling myself that by January when school and work resumes, I will walk-off any excess weight.
Then there is feeling of guilt knowing that many people around the world did not have much to eat this Xmas. With that realization, I will not over-eat any more. I will get out there and do some voluntering with my time. I am wishing everyone a very blessed and fulfilling New Year 2006.
To these families I am grateful for all your love and support- the Igwes, the Chukwumas, the Onuigbos, the Ifiorahs, the Ugwus, the Esiobus, the Okwatas, the Okohs, the Okpalas, the Orjiakos, the Ibes and others.

This is my 28th christmas and this one had a special meaning to me because I have people that I can call my family, my friends and my dear friends. Everybody that called me today means a lot to me and I love you guys very much. Just knowing that someone really loves you is such a blessing that I will not take for granted this fast cominnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng year, 2006. I pray we don't get have so much destruction of human lives like we did this year, 2005. My prayers goes to all that suffered any form of tragedy this year- from tsunami victims and their families to Katrina victims and their families.
