I get my inspiration from the international youth meetings I occasionally participate in. Seeing the energy and passion of people from so many countries and learning that they have similar issues to struggle with as people in my country gives me hope and the sense of belonging.

I am inspired by things like the "clean city" law in São Paulo that bans outdoor advertising. Not only because I think there is alot of advertising pollution around the world, but because it proves to me that a big change (that I previously would have thought that rich corportations could have stopped) can happen.

An important issue that matters to me is violence against women and girls. There is a great need for young people to begin to participate in development processes; but widespread ignorance on critical issues, such as budgeting, can hinder the development process. Another issue that matters to me is the gap between youth and policy makers, but building a bridge between this gap will remain elusive as long as youth remain ignorant on the policy issues that affect all of us.
