My life changed from that day on because I realized when you lose just one parent, it feels like your world has come to an end. I never looked at my mother, single parents or widows the same way since. My heart’s desire is to open up a safe haven for such kids to call home. If you still have one of your parents, please appreciate him/her because you still have it better than some of the kids in an orphanage. Inspiration is when a brother reaches out to help the neighbour across the street because he has run out of milk for his children. When a sister reaches out and helps the neighbour call for police because she knows her neighbour is being robbed and refuses to turn a blind eye. When a piece of paper is falling along the pavement outside your house and you pick it up to put it in the garbage bin or trash can. I am inspired when i see the difference one person can make when you care enough. Governance in my country is a far cry from what it used to be and I am encouraged that individual Nigerians are rising up to the challenge and taking care of each other.
