An important issue that matters to me is violence against women and girls. There is a great need for young people to begin to participate in development processes; but widespread ignorance on critical issues, such as budgeting, can hinder the development process. Another issue that matters to me is the gap between youth and policy makers, but building a bridge between this gap will remain elusive as long as youth remain ignorant on the policy issues that affect all of us. Life and living it inspires me. Being able to know that no matter your race, colour, economic status and place of birth, you have dignity and right to live is a treasure that we should all encourage and embrace.
Seeing the youth of today trying to be citizens of one community and that is the global village makes me think that the day is now that we should be inspired by the challenges of this world and make the challenges to be gate way to opportunities. ( lees verder)

I am extremely passionate about Indigenous issues, and all facets of Indigenous struggles. I have worked in Treaty Land Entitlement and Specific Lands claims, which allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge of the legal systems for First Nation land claims in Canada. However, this was not the beginning of my introduction to Indigenous politics. I grew up in a home that was surrounded and occupied with people heavily involved in Indigenous politics.
