Understandings of value of life and its duration made me aware. As I spent my childhood days in the conflict hit areas, I was the witness of many cross firings between the security and armed rebel where the innocent people used to lose their life. Gradually I understand the situation about the world where there is war and unrest and many innocent people were killed. I am extremely passionate about Indigenous issues, and all facets of Indigenous struggles. I have worked in Treaty Land Entitlement and Specific Lands claims, which allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge of the legal systems for First Nation land claims in Canada. Students are constantly being bombarded with IT in their lives. They come to school as digital natives and we are their immigrants. We need to teach and learn using these tools, as they are using them anyway. We need to guide them through this shift in education, or we will have a group of unmotivated, disengaged youth.
