Being born and raised in Kenya, culture and the study of humanity has always been my inspiration. My beautiful country of Kenya has a diverse and unique set of cultural values and a heritage drawn from 42 ethnic groups. This has inspired me to think beyond Kenya and Africa, anthropology with its origins in the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences has given me a global picture. Many things inspire me, from religious freedom to environmental protection, but I am inspired most by youth who have realized their own potential to initiate and produce positive changes in their environment. In addition, youth who have taken their own meager resources to create change in their community without the support of others (e.g. politicians and alike) have also been an inspiration to me. What inspires me the most are the rights of youth and children and how they develop those rights. This is most easily communicated with the use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) tools, which inform the public, especially young people [on their rights] and their environment. As well, I am inspired by the well-being of every individual and their way of life.
