Hey everyone!

I just received a really exciting opportunity that I thought I would take time to share with you. I recently attended a study abroad fair which made me realize how many opportunites there are to study and volunteer all over the world. I took advangtage of this information and applied to Volunteer Abroad for a 15 days volunteering opportunity in Ghana this August. As of today I have been accepted for this opportunity and will be traveling to Ghana on August 17th to work with a group of people on a school imrovement project. I will be helping teach children in Ghana English as well as plan extra-curricular activities for them.nbsp;

I#39;m very excited to integrate myself into a new community that is so different from my own and learn about new and different cultures and take on a new way of living for 15 days!

There#39;s a defining moments art contest going on, this contest asks you to submit a piece of artwork that represents a defining moment as a Canadian for you. You must include approximately 75 words to describe your piece of artwork. The deadline is March 1st, if everyone could submit something that#39;d be amazing!

Cheers!

Just an update on what I've been doing.

Hello everyone!

This blog isn#39;t going to be very excting, just somewhat of an update on what I#39;ve been up to in the past week. I#39;ve been looking over various member content that has been submitted to TIG, generally within the past few months, trying to gather content that would be exciting and interesting for a weekly newsletter. I#39;ve also started submitting my own artwork (photography) to the global gallery as well as to the defining moments art contest. I have set up a flickr account for my photography as well (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tayenglish/). This is the first I have ever posted any of it publically other than maybe a few shots on facebook, so that#39;s pretty new.nbsp;

I#39;ve done a lot of exploring throughout Toronto in the past week, discovering new places and looking more in depth to places that I#39;ve already seen. I went to Lake Ontario on Sunday which was amazing. I checked out Kenzington market which was a very new experience, I#39;ve never seen anyhting like it. I also went to the Art Gallry of Ontario, which was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen.

Hopefully I#39;ll have something more interesting or excting to blog about next week!

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

I just started at TakingITGlobal last Monday. I will be working as the new online community animator. I#39;m hoping to be able to follow up in the shoes of the last online community animator. I hope that I#39;ll be able to help all of you with your needs, I will try my hardest to do so. I#39;m also very excited about getting to be more involved in learning about global issues and expand my knowledge about other countries. I#39;m going to try and update this as much as I can, I probably will once or twice a week.nbsp;
