I#39;ve been studying Asian elephants in Sri Lanka for the past six years. nbsp;We#39;ve kept track of close to 600 of these amazing animals in Uda Walawe National Park over this time, following their friendships and learing about how they communicate with one another. nbsp;Starting this year, I#39;m expanding our work to look at how farmers and elephants affect one another. nbsp;Each year wildlife and people are killed because of conflict over land and water. nbsp;We hope our work will help solve some of the problems.

nbsp;

I#39;ve put up a video to launch a fundraising campaign for our work next year, as part of the #SciFund Challenge!

Do you want to make a difference for elephant conservation?

Do you want to help people live peacefully alongside these magnificent animals?

Do you have a club or organization that could do a fundraising drive for us?

Please get involved by sharing these links and finding creative ways to help out!

In 50 years world's climate could reach a temperature as hot as it used
to be in the age of dinosaurs! Usually such changes take thousands of years...
ecosystems can't adapt, neither can we.

We hosted a Climate Change Conference this weekend at the University of California at Berkeley.
Post-conference, our goal is to make it as accessible as possible to people around the world!!
For a period of two weeks six of our speakers will be available to answer questions. We hope later
to add multimedia and other resources. Come visit us and talk about this very important issue!!!
The address is-

http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~eco/earthweekend

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, we are trying to create a database of environmental organizations around the
world. We just launched it this weekend, and want to fill it up with your contributions from around
the world. Please visit:
http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~eco/network.html
And add your group!
If you add yourself, please be kind and place a link to us on your website.
Thank you!
