Environmntal Conservation work in Ghana

Hello,My name is Awal am 27 years old student in Ghana, studying
Agricultural technology,

I live in a country where issues of the environment are just based on
word of mouth but little action is being done by policy makers to
change anything.

The forest of Ghana is under a serious threat from complete
deforestation as individuals and agencies here are taking advantage of
rural indigenous people who are not educated enough to fight to
preserve what belongs to them and are being constantly exploited.

the number of forest trees being cut down every day here is
alarming.

-I ask my self, 10 years from now will my child be able to
identify what a common "odum" is ?

what legacy will i have left behind for him to enjoy?

-Forests have a critical role to play in the fight against global warming.

They are the the largest storehouse of carbon on earth and, after
coal and oil, are the third biggest source of carbon emissions.

-Deforestation, particularly in the tropics, contributes about a fifth
of global carbon emissions, and has negative impacts on biodiversity,
local communities and indigenous peoples, sustainable long-term
economic growth, air quality and other environmental and
socio-economic goods and services.

then i got scared,

i met with jon syms of the pachamama alliance in the USA on the internet and
he inspired me and sent me a symposium tool kit and i have since been
facilitating around many communities here in Ghana trying to spread
the message of the Awakening The Dreamer Changing The Dream, it is a
success here and every now and
then many more people are taking interest in what we are doing,
We are a group of young students from the university who have dedicated
our time to this course.
So i together with some colleagues of mine at school came together to
form a group to facilitate around forest areas of ghana where rural
people are exploited always.

and below is a description of just what we represent.

"Think globally - act locally" is a motto followed by members of the
Africa Facilitator Group
AFG is a group of citizens/Students trying to protect The forest of Ghana and
Africa at large against damage, mismanagement and Deforestation. Its mission is
to increase awareness of these issues among the public as well as
local, state and national officials in an effort to prompt positive
action.
You'd be surprised to learn, how negligent some government agencies
can be in, addressing flagrant violations of law and obvious acts of
environment degradation. By joining our team under this assignment,
you will gain insights to the challenges and realities of natural
resource advocacy work
During your membership with us,you will be welcome to share your
experience and knowledge with us all, take part in whatever issue is
just being "battled" and then use this new knowledge when challenging
similar issues wherever else you come from. You will surely realize
that complaining passively won't change anything, but taking action
and actively pointing out issues can have a big positive impact.
And this is What i believe in.
Yeah to all people concerned, i have a passionate appeal to all of you to take particular interest in our case,
me and my team have the commitment to Reach out to many more communities and spread this message, and we need your support financially it doesn't matter how much so that we can raise an amount of $1200 to finance the cost of travels, accommodation, renting of generators and other logistics to facilitate our work.
I know it hard for every one every where in the world with the credit crunch thing,
please with your kindness we could save the world by another mile.
I have attached pictures as evidence to you about the work am into here,
