No success has been achieved at the climate summit in Copenhagen. Head of the governments or representatives from at least 194 countries gathered together to reach understanding on some points, to reduce carbon emission, and to work out how all the vulnerable countries would get payment as compensation. But the demand of developed and developing countries could not be harmonized at all during the summit.

The summit ended up by fulfilling the developed nations' demand of keeping global temperature below 2 degrees Celsius , and only holding out further hope for the developing countries, which is obviously deceitful.

All the leaders from around the world were busy during the summit to deliver their good speeches. No government from any country of the world was able to submit any project or proposal against the climate change and its effects, that the funds they receive would be spent on.

Most of the garment factories have been set up within the area of metropolitan Dhaka city. It accelerated population growth in the capital. Indeed over population is one of the acute problems in Dhaka metropolis. The number of vehicles exceed the capacity of roads. Traffic jam has virtually paralysed the capital. Frequent labour unrest in garment factories creates an unbelievable situation in the city and its suburbs. Construction of new roads and reduction of population are two solutions to the problem. But both are difficult to achieve. It is high time to re-locate the factories in different districts adjacent to highways e.g., Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Barisal, Dhaka- Dinajpur, Dhaka- Khulna etc. to reduce population of the capital and also to reduce labour unrest. The people concerned have to keep in mind that not more than 50 factories should operate in a particular location. Making a hub of factories is not a pragmatic decision.

Developing mini industrial villages by the highways would facilitate employment for workers of different geographic locations. It would also help to reduce labour unrest. Relocation of factories would help to reduce traffic jam in the capital as well. It is true that the garment industry is a major contributor to the economy. To help the factory owners, the government has to develop mini industrial villages by the highways.

Simultaneously, new roads have to be constructed and the existing ones are to be expanded in the capital, if possible.
It attracts both the domestic and foreign tourists. It is a place that we can be proud of. Bandarban is a district situated in South-Eastern Bangladesh, and a part of the Chittagong Division and Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bandarban is also recognized as Arvumi or the Bohmong Circle (of the rest three hill districts Rangamati is the Chakma Circle and Khagrachari is the Mong Circle). Bandarban town is the home town of the Bohmong Chief (currently King, or Raja, Aung Shwe Prue Chowdhury) who is the head of the Marma community. It is the administrative headquarters of Bandarban district, which is one of the most exotic tourist attractions in Bangladesh.

Sea level rise is the most discussed and debated global issue now. Actually in the past 100 years global sea-level rose between 1 and 2 millimetres a year. It is predicted by experts that the sea level rise will inundate most of the low lying countries like Bangladesh . According to INTERNATIONAL PANEL ON CLIMATE CHANGE (IPCC), one meter sea-level rise will inundate15 to 20% of Bangladesh . So, 13 to 30 million people of Bangladesh would be affected. If there is an increase in temperature of 6c the greater flow of water through three great rivers will lead to between 20 to 40% more flooding.

Threatening the richest and most productive region of country, sea level rise can have dire consequences for the Bangladeshi economy. A recent study estimates that a gross domestic product (GDP) decrease in the range of 28% to 57% could result from 1m. sea level rise.

On the sidelines of Gyan Utsob 2009: Bagerhat Hobe Digital, its co-organiser Munir Hasan, who is also the general secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network spoke to StarTech about the fair.

StarTech: Why does a private organisation, not the government, have to initiate a programme like Bagerhat Hobe Digital programme?

MH: Actually it is a public-private partnership programme through which Digital Bangladesh could be accomplished within 2021 as per the government declaration. It is true that a private organisation step forward to accomplish the programme, but the government agencies took part there deliberately.

ST: Is the government taking initiative to turn Bangladesh digital?

MH: The government is marching forward with huge work plan with 10 objectives, 56 strategic themes and 306 action items to fulfil one vision Digital Bangladesh 2021. Accordingly, the ICT act was amended and five CeC are being established. Actually the private works are more apparent than the government one but people enjoy the benefits from government initiatives for the long run.

ST: Do you really think that Digital Bagerhat programme is significant for us?

MH: Well, it was an awareness building programme through which general people will be benefited and it is really the beginning of a dream. And it is the public who has to come forward to accomplish it. It means we have to think how we can reform our work strategies technologically. Incorporating the technology in work is a part in it, simultaneously, we have to do research to get more outcome out of the technology use. Besides, I would say, the programme was organised to make people understood regarding their stake in Digital Bagerhat which at the end of the day transformed trustworthy.

ST: What do you think the initiators should do now?

MH: Now, the organiser has to keep the tempo among the people of Bagerhat upward so that the digitisation in education, administration, e-Centres, tourism sector, Mongla Sea Port and so on is being kept moving.

ST: Are you going to arrange same kind of programme?

MH: Many districts are now showing interests in it. Among them Panchagarh, Comilla and Brahmanbaria are ahead. We are going to arrange same programme at Panchagarh soon.

- Bob Dylan, Blowing in the Wind.

As long as there will India and Pakistan, this fight will never stop. Too many times has this been said.

More than 2000 people were killed, slaughtered, burnt in all the violence in 2002 in Gujarat. The mainstream in Gujarat is still in denial.

Millions of people died when the subcontinent was torn apart into Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.

Bomb blasts continue to claim innumerable lives. People from each side are hurt. The real reasons behind these blasts are still elusive. We all guess: terrorism, creating communal unrest…Perhaps all these are true.

For the Hindu, Muslim and Christian Sikh, Parsi and whatever person of faith caught in the middle it is just a matter of living with dignity, with the ability to practice your faith and go on with your life which matters.

For as long as these borders remain, our psyche will always be divided, although we are not divided in our history, culture and consciousness.

We need to do away with these borders, and let us start dreaming now. Because politicians are people and it is people who create opinion. It is people, us who can put an end to communal violence.

September 10 to September 16th ,2007 is the week to blogging for a united India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Voices from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh coming together to say why and how a One State Solution is possible within this subcontinent.Whether and how one State can and should be created.

Here is what you have to do:

Blog about why you want or don’t want an undivided subcontinent. And how you think this is possible. What the future holds in store for an undivided subcontinent, what could be possible…

And there is more coming.

So let us create a coalition to take these voices far and wide. The One State Solution Week. September 10 to 16th, 2007.

This is a collaborative event. If you want to design posters, hand-outs, invites…the more the merrier…

Suggestions and queries welcome.
Let’s make it happen!
In another report says through developmentex.com, more than 400000 people come in Dhaka every year for employment. It's also make street children day to day.

In my views, The employment will be established in the village area thats can be stopped greater abuse of street children. The slum dwellers also be part of villages through creation of employment by government. In this way, we will get more things to better education, health services, better environment and also sustainable agriculture.

In between public and private sectors lead them to work further for evaluation on local resources to establish social capital through human capital. Because, Which things is available in Dhaka. Listed all the works and make available in the village areas. Which also make greater communication on human security and protective lives for all.
Unity is power but political views make humans different. In the public sense, it can be omit but it will take time for in its societies.
