What inspires you?

I, in my school was always involved in various events, seminars and competitions on global and national issues. This en-rooted a deep interest in me to know about everything in the world that affects we, the people as a part of society.

We actually don't have to go too far searching for a source of inspiration.. The world around us is enough.. The fact of being born as a species that has the ability to make a change for the world keeps me moving. A single bright idea born in one mind can bring a massive change from a person to person, community to community and throughout the world.

Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.

Environment, because that, I think, is the most crucial thing presently. More than politics, more than conflicts. It doesn't affect a single nation or a community but directly affects the whole living world. Eco-care is something that can not be put aside to be done tomorrow.. Action has to be taken today..coz every passing moment of degradation done to the Mother Nature takes us to a very dark future.. It's like we're destroying our own home, and endangering our survival... And all this when we are merely borrowers to them.

Planets like Earth aren't dime a dozen. It is suffering with various problems. And the reason for this is the mankind. And surprisingly, same is the solution. Yes, it is we who can make our world a better place to live. I'm not a world leader, or the secretary to any global organization, but I'm glad that being just how ordinary am I can contribute a lot to my WORLD. "NO MATTER WHO WE ARE, OR WHERE WE ARE FROM, WE CAN ALL MAKE A 'BIG' DIFFERENCE....JUST WHAT WE NEED IS TO BE TOGETHER!"

I have contributed to this cause at my own personal level. Plus, I have participated online through various communities and through my blogs spread as much information and awareness that we could.

Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.

A good leader doesn't have to be an exemplary figure..he doesn't have to be the perfect person who sets incredible standards. A leader can be any one of us.. You, me or anybody!
Even he can make mistakes..but should learn from them as well..! A leader has to be responsible, inquisitive, confident, enthusiastic and passionate. He is like the sail of the ship..leading the way.. He's the guiding light.. He stands strong like a mountain, not feared of the problems that come in the way.. He is the planner, a strategist, an analyser.. He has to be friendly and grounded too..ensuring that people around him are comfortable..

Do you think TakingITGlobal can help you achieve some of your goals? Have we already? Please tell us how.

It was while searching for such 'global' topics on the web and events I could participate and learn from that I came across the link of this site. The site seemed wonderful and I could find discussion boards on almost every topic that had attracted me before and about which I wanted to learn more and discuss about, just as I probably was looking for! And the best part is that we actually could actively contribute in solving the global issues like education, Poverty, Starvation, Human Rights, Disaster Management, Environment and many more with every click! And every time I logged in the site I learnt a word in different languages everyday! The site is really very good for young people and students like us who get to learn, discuss and contribute from and to the society simultaneously. Youth are not just the future but also the back bone of a society. And to ensure a stable and good society this youth needs to be aware, informed and well educated about not just their own locality but also the global issues and the manner in which these could affect them. This site is brilliant. I not only got to learn from it, but also got a global platform to express my views, put forward my ideas and comment and suggest on such important topics with students, professionals and other individuals committed to global welfare programs from all around the world. Moreover, I enjoy the numerous opportunities I get here of participating in exciting competitions. And at the end of the day, when I log out from the site I'm happy at the fact that not only got to learn and expand my sphere of knowledge from this site but also did some good work by helping in making a little contribution towards the welfare of the world with my every click.

And TIG has helped me in realizing this belief of mine! Probably, these are some of the words that make up my story!! Thank you!
