Education - Nico presented what happened at the CCR consultation in Toronto with education committee and proposal Organizational - room confirmed at school in Edmonton for day - Janet Dench, Elizabeth McSweeney, Nick Summers would like to attend some of the Youth Caucus session - possible schedule: Plenary (all network) meets for a few hours – then breaks into smaller groups – then reconvenes in plenary to discuss key priorities – only make commitments can commit to then. Morning – Orientation: welcome and orientation of network, understanding the issues (CCR overview + youth network issues) Lunch – together, meet and bonding Afternoon – subcommittees meet + workshops with youth from ESL classes Late afternoon – closing circle – subcommittees report, key priorities and realistic/achievable goals that people have committed to - created smaller groups to discuss further planning - Madelaine will start discussion of the morning activities and Nico will start discussion of the afternoon activities. Laidlaw Foundation Proposal - Colleen sent out possible draft letter - how do we change so it reflects what we want to do structurally? - how do we want to be promoting youth inclusion? content - general - what will Laidlaw fund? leadership, inclusive communities - 40 people on TakingITGlobal, how can we have more people participating regularly - this is what we have accomplished so far, these are some of the advantages, these are some of the disadvantages - funding to go to these conferences are key for this network - yet really hard to find - send Colleen comments on draft - where do we want to be in one year? Skype - should we keep using skype? - should we try conference calling again? General Information - how can we use the one day sessions to move forward to create momentum between the consultations and build up at the same time - choosing priorities at Youth Network caucus sessions that people are willing to work on and that will actually move forward - how do we get members to participate more in the project page? in conference calls? Should we be focused on trying to get more people involved or let them be involved only if they wish. - should we focus on some smaller tasks that people could get involved in? to entice them to stay? should we break it down into smaller steps that people could get involved in before the next weekend? - Catherine will create a small document about ongoing "to-do" list and contact list so that people could get involved doing smaller tasks (Catherine will contact Madelaine and Nico to get ideas) - everyone can update this list and add things that they think could be done - this will be started on the Wiki space on TakingITGlobal as well as being sent out to the ccrjeunes e-group - what should we do about Steering Committe? commitment was to be be at every call for 1 year - this has not been happening - we need a common understanding of what commitments should be - possibility of organizing committee members around project areas?
