OUTCOMES
What were the major issues that were expressed in the group? Please provide a summary of all the key points that were shared at the forum.
- TIG’s MDG Campaign
- Challenges to youth’s participation in the MDG youth campaign (from country to region)
- Opportunities for youth to get more involved in the MDG youth campaign and some other volunteer activities. Most examples are in Singapore
- Networking for further collaboration
Do you think the Open Forum was effective in terms of inspiring and helping participants take positive action locally, nationally and/or globally? What specific actions did you agree to take individually or as a group in the future?
Not all but thanks to the forum I myself realised how terribly wrong I was to underestimate the MDG knowledge of the participants. I appreciated most the sharing of MDG-related opportunities and activities in Singapore which should be applied to all ASEAN country members.
What do you feel were the positive outcomes resulting from this forum that may help create change in your community?
Hopefully yes. More open forums on MDGs (preferably one to up to four specific Goals/time) for youth should be carried out. “Advantaged” youth of more opportunities to approach MDG info, events etc. should frequently update the others with news on the related-subject.

LESSONS AND INSIGHTS
Were there any major struggles that you faced while coordinating this forum, before and during the actual event? How did you overcome these obstacles?
Before: I have never been in such a rush to prepare for something like that before. I confronted time and situation constraint as I was very busy with another important conference during that time and the location was... not on my own turf anyway. I had also felt desperately lonely for fear I would do everything on my own but then “my boss”, my dear sister Franziska and some friends like Manish, Wolfi, Davina were always there, lending me a hand every time I needed. Precious support from TIG for not only providing the tools and tips but also helping me send invitation to its members in Singapore and Malaysia, and support from SIF with photocopying materials, providing room... were very appreciable.
Were there any major factors that helped you coordinate this forum more easily than expected?
The participants of the forum themselves, they were very active and open... Thank you all!
